Griefers blocking hat quest hopefuls?

I have yet to have time to attempt the Grand Tour quest for R14, but I have seen some complaints on the forums of griefers in Shardfall slaughtering low level characters attempting to complete the Quest. I have very little desire to flee PVP just to complete the Grand Tour.

If this is true, I would hope the Devs would do something about it? Has anyone else encountered this?

 

Yesterday I went in alone with my new level 5 character, talked with the tour guide, and on my way out I was killed by a plant.

 

You can log in through SPO and go to the same scene.

 

Can you enter those types of zones on Single Player? Avoid that junk altogether.

 

you should be able to login in single player online to get that guide if necessary.

 

Yes, as redfish said, just log onto Single Player Online and go in unchallenged. The counter to that is you will miss the thrill of being challenged, but unless you are level 40+ (or a super pro gamer) you won't survive anyway.

 

I died a few times in there. To plants.

 

Last night i waited 2 hours and 40 mins next to the tour guide pretending to be AFK. During this time 11 people waved or bowed and only 1 person took the bait and hit me. It really isn't that bad and it looks really nice in there.

 

I like that they changed things up makes it a bit risky for you.. But hey you get to learn what a pvp zone is all about right.. If you really cant handle it you can always use single like they said hehe

 

I got there at level seven. You just have to be fast and learn where the plants are.

I got killed once by another player on my 3rd attempt but I wouldn't call him a griefer, it was only once. Pro-tip if your having trouble, when you are recovering from death hide in the bushes near the moongate. Nobody bothered me there.

 

Some PKs griefed me yesterday disguised as plants.

 

I did this quest in SPO. Grievers are not a problem for me.

 

When I did the hat run there were two guys standing by the entrance waiting for anyone to show up. They started attacking me but I decided to ignore them and just leg it straight to the tour guide... Once completed I hurled myself off a cliff and robbed them of the glory of finishing me off.

Like a hero.

 

Also if they're in an open PvP zone they're not Griefers, they're PvPers.

Now if they were camping your house and killing you, then they'd be griefers.

 

You got off light. Some plants PK'd (plant-killed) me yesterday disguised as PK's. Very confusing.

 

Ah, the Joys of Counter-Griefing... Now we just need the Bounty System restored/implemented. Thanks for the hunting tips, folks.

 

Actually if the players were hunting in the area. That wouldn't be griefing.

But standing at the entrance waiting for people to zone in and attacking them before they can get into combat mode would be griefing.

 

Well, that's all that's ever going to happen in those shardfall areas.. Unless they change the design somehow.

 

That doesn't change the fact that it is griefing.

 

So we're at the point where people are getting upset at PVPers for things that theoretically might happen but really haven't?
