Hearts of Britannia 2: Valentine's Poetry Contest!

really? Cause there is no Dev Hangout scheduled for tonight, unless Gina dropped the ball in posting it or Holt didnt get it in soon enough for it to be scheduled. Was the plan to have Holt read them via an audio only hangout on the radio with Avatar Radio's permission?

 

I will state for the record - Gina did *not* drop the ball! And it *was* intended to be a Google Hangout simulcasted on Avatars Radio. At least this was the understanding of Avatars Radio and our only part in this contest. We are uncertain what to tell our amazing community who did submit their poems. (when i get them - which i still have not, i will be happily reading them!)

Winners will still be chosen and announced. We await Sir Ironfell to let us know how to proceed.

There is however one that still grips me tight. Although the poetry was simply written to enter a contest - and should not be taken as more then thus.

one *really* has a hold on me and that person deserves a lot of kudos - it is not an easy task, to affect my lack of judgement or little black heart like such!

Just wish i knew who it was.... ~holds a glass poem like a glass slipper~

Have my suspicions but I await to find out if it is true.

Thank you for setting up such an amazing event. The poems read were incredible and being at Wody's with everyone listening definitely set the tone. Loved the live stream also, brilliant to see and hear the poems be read. Plus I actually thought Holt was the old dude in the photo haha. Maybe he's managed to create the potion of youth.

I wrote Battle of Hearts for Amber.

 

Mine wasn't titled, but my entry was the one she read at the end.

Is it a fool's errand to lavish praise on one whose heart is already won?
Undoubtedly in most cases, save perhaps for just this one.
When the target of this affection is the chaotic Priestess Amber Raine,
Unpredictability is the norm; The only guarantee is a bit of legerdemain

While courtly romance may not be my aim with my stilted rhyme
I will praise her just the same for doting on her is no great crime
Convincing the masses to embrace chaos may be how she uses her talents
But even knights and lords devoted to order must see the need for balance

Some mistake her devotion to chaos as a heart filled with darkness
But they have never stared deep into a maelstrom and found catharsis
To her, order and structure and merely forms of awful tyranny
But in her is warmth, passion, conviction, decency and sincerity

Only 3 brave souls out of all the ones that were received? ahh well, tis nice to imagine who they can be and laugh when we find out we are wrong (like i did with enders - I thought it was written by someone else)

Was absolutely beautiful Royal - The other for Rustic was by me (he got loved by the radio heads ).

And, I had thought the ode to BurningToad was by Riya - Well writ my dear friend.
