Hangout of the Avatar - Equipping the Community

Hail Avatars!

The next community hangout will be on how we know what we know as community members. Resources and tools to find what you want to find. And details on the upcoming R17 Player Owned Town test that we're expecting! We're going to be recapping the game features as they're currently listed and talking about what we need to support towns in New Britannia as owners of said towns! We have talked over some of this town design before in previous hangouts (available below) and we have talked it out on the forum... some links to be aware of:

What this is not:
This is not a place where people are going to come together and bash Portalarium for things they don't like. If you haven't been following me I'm a huge fan of this game and a firm believer that these guys know what they're doing. I trust them. They know better than I do. That said, I love the fact they're allowing us to be part of development and design like I have never been before. I love seeing the game before all it's parts are in place. I love the community we have here... I have lots of love for lots of things and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Please come ready to voice your requests with respect and in an honorable fashion. I will not tolerate someone bad mouthing another player or Portalarium for a difference of opinions.

So glad you could make it! I was thinking of you and Net when I made the time 3pm my time instead of 6pm

 

A timely topic. Here's a few questions I hope are discussed (and that perhaps Winfield can answer for us).

1. Do any buildings require upkeep?
2. How are POT's protected from hordes of NPC's that might be roaming about?
3. What impact do sieges have on POT's?

I don't expect Winfield to know detailed answers to these questions. But I'm hoping he's considered the defense and maintenance of his town and can discuss perhaps "more than we already know" about the high level "basics".

I'm interested... but, do you have information that the rest of the community does not?

 

I am sure that Winfield knows a thing or two, seeing as Paxlair will (hopefully) be in the next release.

 

If there's still a seat available, I wouldn't mind joining. I'm fairly new, long time lurker, but pretty knowledgeable about the game. I've helped bring some new members to the community via streaming as well.

I know that Matterio has not publicly responded but I reached out to him in private and he confirmed he would be there. I'm going off his comments in private messages to reserve the slot. I am starting a standby list because usually a couple people don't show up due to personal situations arriving and conflicting with the time... and we already have more than 10 people. Please feel free to keep kicking your names in and I will get invites out accordingly.

As I added this to the calendar I see this conflicts with one of the longest running events in SotA... the Bear Tavern Brawl. I am going to push this back an hour if that's okay @Sindariya

Let me know if anyone has an issue with that new time... if I don't hear back then I will be moving it to 4pm eastern instead of 3pm eastern. Thanks!

So it will be 3pm CST? I'm 7 hours later then CST so it is 10pm CET which is still okay.
