Stats will probably always be a little vague. We have a basic idea of what they're supposed to do but like much of the game they're not fully implemented or balanced.
Yep, RG would really like to have no numbers, and no health bars. But other systems need to be in place for that to work out, such as different levels of wounds. I'm not sure if they'll be able to pull that off or not. But it would be neat. I think part of that is so people aren't sitting there number crunching everything, The other part is so we don't immediately know everything. It's part of learning things is by using them.
