    Hi all!

Fresh customer here. Apparently, my malw-blocker considers the launcher a bit of a menace. Anything I need worrying about there?

Nothing to worry about. It is a false positive.

    And Welcome Ringlein!

more than likely, @Sir Baralis is correct on the false positive. what does it say the infection is? are you using heuristics? the fact that it is a downloader coudl be what triggers an overly sensitive antimalware application/appliance.

Maybe it's the auto-seed feature, but yeah, what I've noticed is a lot of malware/virus blockers consider obscure MMO launchers to be viruses when they are simply not familiar with them, there are zero viruses in the launcher.

The last couple of publishes, McAfee has occasionally blocked the installer after it finishes one block, before it starts the next. I exit the client, restart it, and the download/install process continues where it was halted. I'd guess there's an executable file which gets changed every so often and the anti-virus software doesn't immediately recognise it as legitimate, or something like that. Anyway, nothing to worry about ;)

Also, if you were really worried about it, then all you'd have to do was to use STEAM to launch (if you are using STEAM already that is).
