I think being fat should be an option in this game. It's good for roleplaying. Nuff said.

I'm not sure if it is a good idea to have an Avatar that resembles the actual player.

+5 to this, big guy. I love making fat dudes in the few games that allow it. And I'm not talking Stocky like a dwarf, but Rotund, like a rich trader. Please make Fat a viable playstyle!

I think it would be best to base this off of how much and what kinds of food you eat .

I've actually talked about this in the thread concerning Avatar character customization Thread: https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/f...haracter-customization.2551/page-6#post-38175

    Here's what I said there:
"I'd like to point out that it would be nice if the musculature vs. fat of a player were dynamic in-game. If there were a calorie counter stat attached to every character, then we could change how physically fit our character is, by adjusting how much we work vs. how much we eat/drink each day. If there's already a muscle/fat slider for creating our characters, then it should be a fairly simple matter to see our characters move along the slider in reaction to our daily actions & consumption habits!

I'm fine with this just being a cosmetic feature, but if you guys want to take the extra step, we could have these values directly (buff/debuff) the strength of our characters, so our good/bad habits effect how much we can carry, or how powerful we hit during combat.

This level of customization would be wonderful.. if after adventuring for a while, i decide to spend all my accumulated wealth for a few weeks, eating and drinking and lazying about town, lifting nothing but a mug to my face day-in and day-out, my character should begin to reflect this in appearance!

I know it was mentioned that there will be salons in game.. Wouldn't it be cool if our hair grew over time automatically, and we had to visit the salon once a month or so to keep our style, or else it would start to look long and overgrown?

These are the little things that I think could bring SotA a step above the rest."

Last thing I want to worry about in a game is my calorie intakes of my character. Im ok with being heavy as a cosmetic choice, but not because im worried about what, how much, etc. my character is eating or drinking and what they are doing to burn calories. This is just grind and mechanics that add nothing to the game play for me. my 2 cents.

I feel the other way around.
The avatars give me the privilege to assist them within there world.
They give me the honor to be part of there existence and do not care how i look.

But i am looking forward to the day i see my avatar pulling out his cellphone in-game calling me and screaming:
Do you seriously think i enjoy the crap you are doing with me!!!

    -Respect you Avatar-

It's rare to see fatness in mmorpgs because of the level of resource needed to create it versus the number of people who want it.

I know Anarchy Online did it, but they used a system whereby all of the gear you could equip would be stretched and skewed by the shape of your avatar.

As the detail in equipment in games has increased since then this method is no longer feasible, as stretching the gear would ruin it.

If it were possible to do in a reasonable way without requiring months of additional development then I am in full support of this. I think it would add another layer to the game.

In the meantime I'd be happy with a height slider that goes from 4ft tall to 7ft tall. That requires no additional resource if they already planned a height slider, extending it requires nothing and adds a huge amount of characterization possibility.

I loved Anarchy Online. And i believe that some fashion designer did get his inspiration from anarchy online in-game clothing.
    They had awesome styling ideas.
