Thank you Net, I know I was doing something wrong... The Hangout said it would only work on armor pieces for now and only change the leather/cloth parts, the metal parts should take on the hue of the metal used... I made a chain helm/gloves/boots and they did do that, but my chest/leg pieces stayed the same... Although I did notice the metal chain twinkles like a Christmas tree now (red, green, blue)...

As further data sharing: there's a list of items - or at least categories - that can be dyed?

I'm right in thinking that only cloth and leather based equipment can be dyed?

    Crafted items can be dyed?

    Etc. TIA!

I think that at the moment only cloth can be dyed, and only bought. We can dye plate, but what is really dyed are cloth parts of it. I could not dye any leather in this release, but then I have not tested every single item.

Where did you find the "Fortified Cloth Legging"? Or, are those crafted?

    Nice work.

    Great job!

What I would like to know is how you managed to make identical screenshots of you and Arianna wearing the different colored gear o_O It looks like the dyeable parts were selected and the color changed in Photoshop (or similar program.)

I suppose the in-game Red Dress is not dyeable :(

It would be more realistic if you could first dye the cloth bolts you use to craft things, and then craft items in that color with the dyed cloth.

Just take closer look at the background and you will see that I was not using Photoshop or anything like that, it was all a lot of patience:)

It was a nightmare since avatars kept moving, but I was careful to take screenshots when they were quite skill, both of us had 15 trunks one for each dye and one for default clothing. We were standing still, just equipping and unequipping different clothing and I took screenshots with an alt for better view:)

No, Red Dress is not dyable, hardly anything is dyable, I am pretty sure I tested all dyable clothes that can be bought, I did not have time nor gold to test crafted gear.

I didn't really think you used Photoshop, but we all know how Avatars, even when standing in one place, twitch and move just like people in real life. It is amazing the amount of work you put into testing the dyes and screen-capturing the results!:)

Thanks for such detailed work! So I just buy the dye from a merchant? Or can we craft our own dyes (in the future)?

Well, for now you have to buy them. I am pretty sure that in the future we will be able to craft them.
