I'm a french cartoonist and I spent some time to produce 10 pages of comic book. The story is the same than the book.

This is really great. You might want to get permission from Tracy Hickman and Richard Garriot (the Authors of Blade of the Avatar), before continuing this project.

Honestly, BotA is so short, I bet it would lend itself quite well to comic book format.

But please be careful copying and sharing a story that is currently in publication and should only be available to purchasers of the novel. ;-)

Hi Miracle Dragon, yes I want to be careful with this point. If I can get any kind of permission, or (why not?) an official publication proposition, this would be great. This is why I didn't created more pages as I don't want to make any copyright infringement... ;p

Hello Lord Trady, the text is fully from the book, I didn't created any text.

After all it was just a test on 10 pages, if this was a longest project, then the text would also be reviewed anyway to fit more precisely with the pictures.

it's just not correct. I'm really hopeful Tracy didn't spell it that way in Blade, but if he did, then, also, Tracy, get an editor

I don't mean to nitpick, but things like that bother me. I like it to be grammatically correct no matter what or I'll stop reading it.

If you're worried about the editing, don't read BotA. it's full of errors. Poll instead of Pool, i believe is another one that is actually in the book. I submitted edits while it was being written, but it seems many were missed / not heeded. Maybe you'll have better luck.

 

Well, I've already read Bota or well as much of it as I could stand, anyway.

I don't think there should be any hurt feelings over pointing out that text needs to be edited

Now we only need the devs to create a function that lets us import images, convert them into chalk drawings and put them into a ingame book!

Have you sent this to Lord British? It is an amazing compendium to BotA and a great addition to the game. I am continually surprised by the the artists(all types) that SotA has and the creativity it fosters. I do know that Dallas has made a book deal for BotA so be sure to check with Port. Lord British is a huge fan of this type of creativity, so if it doesn't interfere with some sort of contracts, I know he would give his blessing!

Things like this epitomize a major part of what SotA is meant to be.
