Running at Fantastic video level - the night skys are quite pretty, but man, its REALLY dark out there. A Light spell helps, but you can no longer even see the profile of trees. Suspect its a bit overdone given the glow the broken moon would be putting out.

(I live in the country, and know dark skies - at least on moonless, cloudless, nights - this is a pretty good match)

Adjustable gamma would be a nice feature.

I also have this issue that it's a tad dark.

I agree... What's the purpose/point of the darkness?

I would also suggest that it's just way too dark. I think it should be dark to an extent during the night (obviously), but even with a torch I can't see anything. Even inside of buildings, including my house, it's just way too dark.
I find that I just wait in town until daytime.

Uh... dark should be uh... dark especially in the absence of light :p and the broken moon should not put out any substantial light, but to be fair perhaps some kind of phased moon lighting could brighten it up after a few cycles.

Simply .... it is too dark on the map, and in the towns.

I don't mind some darkness but would love longer days and shorter nights.

The definition of "dark" was never in question, DA - only the degree and questionable necessity of it.

It's just so dark that I am actually avoiding to do things until dawn because of that. But maybe I am just overcautious to not become lost at night.

Yes it is a bit scary. I could see the outlines of trees though. Also it was spooky because I had heard there would be night creatures and in Greymark forest I only ran into the usual, but a surprise would have spooked me for sure and is a great idea. ;)

@majoria70 Yes, I think it's great in the forest, but I'd rather not be feeling spooked out in my village house! :)

Well, I've only been playing a few days so far and when R20 came I decided to investigate all the new skills/spells.

I went into the Magic Tree and under Moon Magic I discovered "Night Vision" It's the first spell in the tree so for 1 point I got a 2 minute night vision buff that actually works pretty good. I'm not sure how long the light orb spell lasts from the Sun tree, but I'm liking this one better and believe it could be a viable alternative.

Give it a shot for 1 point and see what you think! I just put it on my non-combat bar and use as needed.

Again, game is almost unplayable for me when its "night". Just had a nice rage quit cause I got sick of waiting for day.
Longer days would be nice, as it seems night time takes forever when I am sitting and waiting to see my surroundings.........

I'm sorry if it sound trivial and stupid: did you try to enable/disable tonemapping in the graphic options?

I hope the length of day eventually varies with the seasons through the year. (we will be getting seasonal weather, so short winter days and long summer days would make sense to go along with that.)

    Yes, tried all the suggestions..
The game is just too damn dark for me to play at night. Just tried again and I can barely see what's attacking me. At least with prior releases I had the red outline of MOBS so I could see them at night. That must have been too blinding for some people and its barely noticeable now.
