In my travels far from home, I find spots that I don't want to forget, spots with good resources, places I want to return to and enjoy. Oh, how I wish to be able to mark a rune. Since we don't have runes, will there be anything we can do to mark a spot that we wish to return to?

    Merci

I did love the rune/runebook system myself. I suppose an alternative they could use would be something similar to the Almsivi Intervention scrolls from Morrowind that let you recall to the nearest tribunal temple. In this case they could create a consumable scroll or item that let you recall to the closest oracle confirmatory.

Remember that every scene has coordinates.

Type "/loc" in the chat window, and it will tell you where you are.

Type "/loctrack" in the chat window, and it will start tracking your coordinates right under the upper left version watermark. Type it again to stop.

Note: the coords are X, Z, Y (east-west, up-down, north-south). Not very intuitive. But priceless to mark a spot you wanted to revisit later.

That's priceless info. When maps can have some love, i'd appreciate if we could write over them. Since that you just explained is on, making marks over them and then "tracking" those marks shouldn't be difficult.

Maybe allow for the crafting of a book that is specific for storing lat/long positions of places of interest then have the ability to click on them and then they will be displayed up on the compass thingy. At least will get you headed in the right direction.
Part of reality in the old days was drawing of maps Of all kinds, usually on scrolls that could be sold/stolen etc. I guess we will see things like this when cartography comes online in a robust way.

That would be nice, I'd love to mark areas at least on a map.

I'd like to see a fully implemented journal. Something that could almost function the way Microsoft Onenote works if anyone is familiar with that.

It's not exactly on topic but being able to put whole parts of a map or just a small area of a map with notes in your journal that you could then organize into sections such as quests, resources, mob types, etc would be awesome and that's just the beginning of what you could do if they used a framework similar to Onenote.

It would be awesome if, wherever we're standing we could hit a key and it would leave a tiny red X on the map, so we could later click that red X to transport directly to the spot. That's asking a bit much, but it would be useful. Our overworld map would have a sprinkling of red X's on it of our preferred destinations.

It would be cool for SotA to create a new system of travel.

Yes an X marking an area in interest would surely be useful, and also if we double click the X it should bring up a page ( note page ) so we can write why we X it and why it was important..

Remember where it is, and how you got there... Is that really that hard to do? Really? Maybe you should eat your vegetables, take a multi vitamin...

Nice idea, when I was playing Ultima II, III, IV we had to draw our own maps on graph paper (so many things are computerized now, I don't think you could find graph paper anymore)...

Smokey is grumpy cause the devs said there would be no easy travel, or if there was it would be a very high level spell with reagents to make a gate or something. The world isn't that big and is instanced so if people recall all over the population won't be spread evenly people will always go to the same spots for farming etc... (its a hard challenge to change that mentality)

Can't you be a little more convivial Smokey ? Some people forget those things they aren't attentive as you are...

For the modest price of a part of your soul and a dream you cherish ? :p

Hey! We can't always remember an exact spot and it's not so easy to return to it. Why not make it a little easier? It's what we humans do. :)

And I do eat my veggies! Mmm!
