Thou dost notice a mysterious stranger staring at thee from a dark corner. He beckons.

"Come closer...do not be afraid," the stranger rasps at thine approach. He pulls back his hood to reveal matted tendrils of thinning hair. He reaches for his mug and thou dost sense his blue eyes scrutinizing thee above the rim as he takes a pull.

Thou canst sense no hostility, however, and thine hesitations begin to abate. Cautiously, thou dost take a seat with the stranger. A few moments are exchanged in silence as the stranger stares absently.

Suddenly he intones, "Dost thou ever think thou wert meant for something more?" His gaze locks yours and thou dost feel a chill encircle thy spine. "Thou knowest what I mean. Thou hast always known." Thy perplexed gaze passes unnoticed by the stranger as he stands, continuing to stare into thine eyes. "Thou art not alone."

Thou dost blink, trying to make sense of his words when thou dost realize the man is already gone. The existence of this encounter is evidenced only by a folded piece of parchment left on the table. Seizing it, thou dost cautiously open it to reveal a single word in glowing red letters:

I'm excited for HoBLotH III and the potential of HoBNortH.

I wrote another piece which amounted to "if you're only waffling over price, don't. The event is so worth it!"

 

Since the first one I really love the "this might not be for you" disclaimers. More events should have those.

I'm also glad you like the disclaimers. I've been running events for over a decade now, each one usually dramatically different than the previous. It was always imperative to me that the right people to come to the right events, even if it meant telling some good friends no. "Wait for the next one, you'll have a much better time at that one..."

Last year's event was super restrictive as I needed a very specific player base. This year, since everyone is designing and running the Quests/Activities themselves, there is a much greater flexibility with the player base as there should be something for everyone. I still require that people don't suck though. That's always the rule. ^_^

 

Yea I saw evidence of that in the "move" pictures including some musical flute impromptu playing...

 

Hi and it's nice to see you around. It is understandable to invite people based on what is best for the project. A few years ago I had a themed slumber party, which was girls only but there were going to be things to do and I wanted particular people to be there who would appreciate the theme. It really turned out terrific. My older sister surprised me so much. I was very specific in the invitations of what was required and that we would have a nightgown or nightware fashion show with each participant entering the room to one of their most favorite songs in the world. It was really amazing how everyone stepped up to the plate in everything I had planned. It was awesome girltime. Now you might ask what does a slumber party have to do with a Hobloth, well ummm nothing probably, but holding an event just reminded me of a time I planned and schemed to have it be sooo perfect and it really was.

 

Oh and so sorry to have derailed your notice for your wonderful event Rustic. I love that you are doing another one.

It sounds like a fun time was had by all. Makes me miss sleepovers as a kid. ^_^

 

This will be effectively a 4-5 (depending if you show up Tuesday night) sleepover at Castleton.

 

has there been HoBNortH before? If so where? I am in ND and would love to attend one if there is one.

After HoBLotH 2 there was some discussion of a HoBNortH event up in Kanadia someday.

 

I just checked potential flights ... and woke up from upcoming dreams due to both pricing and flight length.

Please understand that this "talk" of a HoBNortH was nothing more than someone suggesting it and me saying "that could be interesting." Rest assured if there are any events after HoBLotH III, you'll likely know about them.
