POT Choice to remove Single Player Online Mode

I'm not fighting a larger war here. I'm completely and totally fighting for my rights as a POT owner to create a PVP environment that makes sense and doesn't give people a way to exploit the environment.

 

Do you also want to ban friends only online entering your area, besides anyone can enter and just block everyone of your townsfolk from being in their instance and its back to SP online for them.
seems a pointless request to me.

 

If my friends aren't flagged PVP, they aren't friends to me.

Plus - Can't ban from open PVP POTS. So that's already a mute point. Open PVP POTs end up being the safest place to chill, literally no one can touch you.

Open PVP.. Safe.. weird huh?

 

The devs may very well grant POT owners that. But no where else in the game can 1 person control another person's mode.

 

I totally agree with that. I'm not suggesting in any way that this be rolled out further beyond the decision of a POT owner.

I forget, were you for or against being able to disable POTs? Because if someone can not enter a zone without being forced into OPO for PvP they will still want to visit that hex. Disabling the POT from view would revert the hex back to a default state.

SPO with PvP POTs disabled ends up with a wilderness zone.

 

There are no hexes anymore; every scene is strategically placed. You can't double-click anywhere to get to a scene.

I don't want anything that can change my mode; I'm fine with the scene determining my PVP status, but since I'm playing with friends that of little consequence. Other players don't have the right to determine who I have to deal with, no matter how much money they threw at the developers.

 

They have a warning message for PVP. That's not enough?

 

It's not changing your mode. It's not changing my POT (that is PVP). If you don't want pvp, don't go into the POT, if you don't want multiplayer, don't go into the POT.

 

That answer didn't work for Shardfalls either.

 

I'm in multiplayer, as FPO. I'm accepting that it is PVP, and I will be flagged for PVP. I'm not accepting that it changes my mode to OPO.

If I'm friends with enough folks in your town that I get sent to an instance where there is lots of people to kill me, fine. If not, I'll be instanced accordingly. My mode is not in your control.

The hexes are still there

Just because we can't click there doesn't mean the devs removed them. If they didn't have a hex revert back to some other zone then it would simply be another section of the over world map that has no zone.

No, I don't think so. I didn't make the town for you and your friends, it doesn't work right with you and your friends. It only works when the town has EVERYONE participating at the same level of risk.

If you and your friends don't like that...go somewhere else in the game and play.

And BTW, in a PVE town you and your friends can be permanently banned. So maybe you should go take that argument over to one of those threads.

 

Why can't your friends who are in a PVP only POT just meet you elsewhere? It's not like there is a glut of PVP only POTs..

 

Right right, back to that part about not agreeing with the dev's design for PvP in a selective multiplayer game.

 

Honestly, neither is your town. Hate to say it, but you wouldn't have it without thousands of other players supporting it. You paid for the right to name it, and place stuff where you want them. Thats it. Its digital property; its not like you can take it with you.

 

You can just go into a shardfall in single player mode and not deal with PvP. They are "selective PVP" at best.

 

No hex is solely owned by one person since the totality of the game was crowdfunded.

I didn't solely pay for the island template but I'm using it.
