    How do we not get caught being pick-pocketed? Is there a special skill to have so that we avoid being pick-pocketed? A high dex count?

    High int would make more sense.

    But what about an Awareness skill? I don't know, but Detect Trap and Disarm Trap, along with making/placing traps would be cool somewhere down along the line, too. I could see Awareness somehow connected to those.

    it is, you should be able to train it pretty much anywhere (its in subterfuge tree)

    Knowing the way current design is, yes you will eventually be able to bank your gold... but it will only be available for withdraw in the city you bank it in.

    I can only hope that I will once again be able to make trapped chest. Curiosity killed the cat and greedy players.

    Yea, they first thing we need to find out is if gold is going to be in the pickpocket loot table. If so, then we will either need to be able to bank gold or we will need to have a banker alt account that holds it while offline.

    As for ways to catch the thief, here is what I learned:
    - If you are not flagged PVP, you can't be pickpocketed. That is your first line of defense.
    - If you heal someone or attack someone who is PVP flagged, you will get a temporary PVP flag and make you susceptible to being pilfered.
    - If you have the thief targeted during the act, he/she will get stunned and it will become quite clear they are making the attempt... giving you some time to attack and kill them (although this might not be a concern for those like Themo who would laugh at the attempt). I'm not sure if this causes the attempt to fail or not.
    - If you don't notice the theft as it happens, but you realize items are missing... you can open the Oracle panel (period on the numpad) within a short period of time (90 minutes I think?) and the stolen items will be retrievable at the cost of the bounty.

    If you are flagged PVP and go AFK training on a gustball in a public place... you deserve to both get pickpocketed and killed! :D

    I just got the skill. I assumed Npc's (both friends and foes) could be targeted as well. But apparently it's just other Players flagged as pvp. Other than myself I've seen two players flagged outside of shard fall areas which makes this ability unusable for 99.99% of the time.

    Not to derail this thread, but honestly, I'm more interested in the pick lock skill than the pick pocket skill. What kind of locks will we be able to get into? NPC Buildings? Player houses?(Assuming in PVP Towns only, but who knows?) Chests? Dungeon rooms? Will there be traps on some locks that can be avoided with high enough skill, or nearly kill us if we fail? :eek:
