Rune books are awesome A spell with the ability to bend space and time to teleport any where in the world at any time any good mage should have that ability. also on a side note doesn't time travel/teleportation device or machine fit right into the steam punk style of the game?

It would be awesome if there was a fizzle change on all scrolls. Maybe you would end up in the middle of some red spiders. ;)

I actually like the way the travel has been implemented except for the animation which does make our character look a bit constipated. I'd like to also see a magical flourish of some sort with neat sound effects. Also yes to another bind point please so we can choose from even better 3.;)

There is already a "mount" in-game. Just try to wear the two coconuts in your hands.. That simulate the mounting speed effect and I suspect it will be as fast as we can get.

Does it work on the overland map because I haven't tried it yet. Besides, I thought those coconuts were a gag item, are we really going to use those for travel at release? lol...

Yes, the coconuts work. I use them often.

Given that you can teleport to every friend and guild member soon, the argument of local economies is moot anyway.
Already now you see people trying everything to avoid travel, and control points.
If something is not fun, you can try to enforce it but it will fail.
Therefor i am 100% in favor of unlimited travel.

I disagree. The cost of travel scrolls can be adjusted to make their frequent use uneconomic, with players reserving their use only for emergencies or social events. Keep in mind that fast travel while encumbered will not be possible. Those who don't use scrolls will have an economic advantage, being able to carry more and not having to pay for scrolls (nothing compared to the advantage had by those who play more hours per day of course - they will always streak ahead).

Current exploits will be found and eliminated. (The heat map will help a lot here.)

i would like to have as many as i can bind - HOWEVER, the more i have 'in memory', the less accurate the recall spell is, for each bind point... not only in the cardinal directions, but even in elevation and if enough are bound, a nearby zone.

This is an awkward poll - there's more to it than just 1 or 2 (or 0).

I don't think people with houses should have a teleportation advantage over those that don't. That's paramount. (it won't be pay to win though - you can buy houses in-game).

Having said that, a get out of jail free recall is great - that's 1 binding.

Having 2 bindings to go from A to B to A to B is also great, but if the intention is for as few bindings as possible and to experience the overworld map as much as possible, this might be a bit cheesy.

Then we have talk about having more than 2 bindings, which we'll likely never see based on the current implementation. I've said it before - marking and recalling off runes once you got the necessary skill and items was a great exploration facet of UO and development of magery, and if that was replicated here, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be the only one to be overjoyed to see it.

Make sure no sudden draft catches the under side of your kilt as you swiftly gallop along, as we all know that a respectful celtic avatar is wearing very little to keep his tools in check under his kilt.:p
