They are placeable in both. While the description doesn't explicitly say you can't place in PoTs we will make sure it says you can also place it in PoTs.

I completely understand your concern and it is definitely justified.

Please understand however that we are definitely working on this behind the scenes. We have multiple engineers on this who have been working for multiple releases. It's just not yet ready for prime time.

Also 90% of the scene work being done is for the single player / story experience. Almost 1/3 of the team is only working on building and integrating maps into the world to tell the story and flesh out the world of Novia.

Thanks for your answer, Darkstarr. It is not the story or the scenes I am concerned about but the "feeling" of the offline mode. Will it feel and play like a true single player RPG or will it feel and play like a MMORPG that is played offline...

@DarkStarr TYSM! This release looks huge! So very excited for all of these updates. This looks like a lot of work went into this release, many thanks to the whole dev team!

You all go above and beyond to stay open and transparent, make wise and reasonable changes based on community feedback, and really deliver with each iteration. I am really fond of this development model, and absolutely elated to be a part of this early access.

    Thanks again!

/em crosses fingers that everything works fine in linux :-D

Great question and a great challenge for us. I've been playing and asking myself the same question. We are NOT even close to that yet but I really, really, really want us to get there. We need to radically rework the conversation window first and foremost to make that happen and we have some ideas on how to get there with the resources and time we have but we have some other issues we have to solve first.

Not only that, but that specific issues will be magically solved, too! :D

I hope I'll be able to play decently in R28! I know it's a longish way to the nVidia X family of GPUs, and I trained my patience to GM already, but still... A miracle or two here and there wouldn't be bad.

The last release REALLY did a better job with my video card and performance; it was kinda awesome to crank it to top settings and get to run around :p

Now THAT is something I wanted to hear as I think that the conversation window is something that definitely needs some love - especially for the offline mode.
I really hope that SotA can give the feeling of a true SP game in offline mode!

    Absolutely.

But then I got a 4K monitor. I had little hope to take advantage of it with my GPU and SotA, but I always counted on the ability to resize the viewport and let the monitor upscale it (like I do with a lot of other games). To my horror, SotA wants to open a viewport of the EXACT same size as desktop, so I'm stuck with a full 4K resolution and 5fps in most cities.

hey at least the launcher and login screen works, post patch!

now if i could just bang on this clock and make it login time :-D

wait, so do you play in Linux or no? If yes, then cant you set custom wxh settings for the SoTA window on launch? Not sure if MS Windows has such features, but I use Compiz for Ubuntu to ensure the same window size and precise open location every time for several apps.

Go into a sewer and poke around. I found it fairly easily from the Soltown sewer.

If you're tired of living it's a great place to visit:rolleyes:

It would be nice to know what is placeable/not placeable in the POTs.

For example the greenhouse from the flexible stretch package is placeable, but I don't believe the other items are. Almost the only place one COULD place the stables is in a POT because it's so big to start with ;)

I understand the concerns about using random buildings as a house, but if I'm entering a POT I'd like to see the hosts have the ability to put as much thought into deco as (or more than) the developers. Meaning all decorations placeable in POT's (granted item limits will quickly catch up to you if you go overboard).

According to the instructions: "The Rise: This new dungeon is the largest dungeon to date. The Rise is the first of the main hubs in the underworld and connects multiple dungeon maps"

I believe this to mean that the entrance to this Hub is gained by entering other dungeons first and then finding the gates to The Rise. This will allow you to go from The Sewers to The Rise and then to the Spectral Mines if you so desired.

Even though I am now beardless, I was able to catch a glimpse of my first shooting star and WOW was it awesome. The graphics look amazing! Great work! :)

Lovely changes, missing my beard but very happy with this update, an encouraging sign of things still to come.

I'm not a fan of this vibrant color... and not much of a fan of this being a part of being injured :(
I'd hate to miss playing a release, but if it gives me a head ache, I will be playing far less, or just avoid combat and find something else to do.

Here, just try reading it and see how it makes you feel
I think animal behavioral medical studies should be done before having humans subjected to this color for very long periods of time...
Maybe there's a way we could make it optional...
