    Linux Black Screen and Crashes
    Reproduction Rate: Every time.
    Blocker: Yes
Details: Launching the game from Steam (Linux) launches a black windowed screen, then closes several seconds later. Launching the game from terminal displays the launcher where it downloads patches then silently crashes and displays nothing. Below is terminal output from running outside of steam.

    WORKAROUND:

Using the 32-bit launcher within the steam shroud directory launches the game.

However, using the 32-bit launcher, independent client, causes the patcher to freeze at 402.

    WORKAROUND for STEAM:

Running the 64-bit client from terminal launches the game without error.

This is terminal output of a working full screen launch from terminal within Steamapps:

    ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SotA$ '/home/padreadamo/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SotA/Shroud of the Avatar.x86_64'

Mono config path = '/home/padreadamo/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SotA/Shroud of the Avatar_Data/Mono/etc'

    BLOCKER: YES

Even after using the workarounds to actually get to the in-game menu. The game still locks up after log-in. This is a major blocker on my end.

No new updates. The issue persists on Steam or the Standalone client at least using the opensource radeon drivers.

Interesting, I suddenly ran into this bug, yet the workarounds worked and the Steam client ran fine.

Straight from the Launcher it hung at 51%...I'll try some more, but yeah this one will be fun to track :).

Same here, can't launch from Steam also in R29

Even with the workaround i get an error and nothing loads

I had the same issue with the steam version, it worked fine before.
In my case it was the steam libraries that were causing the issue.

I had to fix steam in order to fix it, try launching a few other steam games that depend on the steam libraries to see if those launch as expected.

You should start a new thread for this if it's still an issue. R28 / R29 discussions probably won't get much traction under the current release :D

FYI. I've been running R47 under Kubuntu and Ubuntu 14.04 an 16.04. Actually under R47, it's really fast and stable. Both the launcher and the main game.

Because this was an issue with steam not Sota, I probably wont start a new thread, I thought I would just mention it for people who stumble across this thread.
