Gold Crowns of the Obsidians

Why can't the Crowns found in game be sellable for gold but the Crowns in the add-on store have a value of 0 gold?

 

..... well now I really regret putting money into shroud. Horrible horrible news this.

 

If they add a skill upgrade potion. .. jesus.. ok i hope they don't... in any case it could be ipon the use of adventurer xp which is useful for gaining skills at low levels but might not be useful at all at level 100..

This is speciation though since they never mentioned any such potion.

 

How would you easily tell the difference between an in-game crown and a purchased crown, especially if your getting it from another player?

Right now there are buckets of water worth 0 gold that Portalarium gave us and buckets of water worth 20 gold that we bought in game... same goes for a lot of things.

 

What part of we're back to unbreakable gear doesn't people understand? Ill craft my own first set, then just spend 20 bucks a week and never have to deal with an in game crafter! YA.. /sarcasm off

 

Yea, but if you're buying a bucket of water from another player's vendor, do you know how much it'll sell to an NPC for?

I have no problem at all with Portalarium making some bank, its necessary... but as it is today, they've impacted the player economy, so I still see this "fix" as a trade-off, but its an acceptable one. If the impact is a reduced demand for newly crafted gear, we need to maintain the ability to repair max durability with higher skill levels having additional value in the process.

This would be awesome for business. I don't think most people are going to pay 20 bucks a week ....

I'm a game consumer not a game developer so I don't know the statistics about how many people spend money on microtransactions. Seems reasonable to assume that some players are more psychologically prone to pay 20bucks a week than others. What do you believe?

 

I believe I'm not putting another penny into the game..

Let them? I am one of the poor players, and these do not at all entice me to spend gobs of cash on the store. They will have to try harder to get my bux! But, that's just me, and I'm probably not alone...

 

That is exactly what Portalarium wants though. They are sacrificing the game economy/mechanics in order to create another revenue stream. Perhaps that is a necessary step for them to keep the servers running long term, but it is an unfortunate decision nonetheless. There must be other things that can be monetized without killing crafters.

 

My Vote Find another way to make money that doesn't allow people to buy gold.

 

I did! I love my pixel house. My wife also loves her pixel house, and our pixel town...

Now mind you we won't spend $20 a week to fix my gear. We would not even do $20 a month to fix my gear. We will make the gear we can and purchase from others the gear we cant.
