That's probably the best response we would have to gold farmers, perma-flagging them for PvP.

But as you said, I don't think we would have problems with gold farmers by the way.

Having to pay real cash $$ to get items I HAVE TO use in the game to play in good condition is for me the biggest problem.

No one has to buy those potions to compete in this game.

If this game did attract factory farmers, they would farm for Obsidians and not gold. They would also slip into single player online mode and farm away.

I didn't get to read through all of this. Why wouldn't the "gold" sellers just sell crowns instead? That market will have ups and downs just like a gold market would.

That is exactly what they will do as Portalarium created an addon store item that has a drop% in game which not only can be sold to npcs for gold, but an added bonus of pay2win properties. Portalarium will only legitimize gold farmers/sellers by giving a RMT price to an item dropped in game.

At any given moment, no matter how much Portalarium manipulates the prices in the addon store and the drop %s, gold sellers will always undercut their price. It actually helps Legitimize gold sellers in a way that makes farming/selling Crowns far more worthwhile then farming regular gold.

Now this is not to say this is not a good funding model for SotA because it is a good one, but it comes at a great price of only hurting the fans and players. Instead of Portalarium spending all their time and money on create a fun, immersive world, they end up focusing just on selling the next micro-transaction. So it is a good funding model, but SotA being a micro-transaction hell is something we were told would never happen during Kickstarter and quite a while after.

Well, people who are buying gold don't care about prices. What inventive is there to sell something at a high price if you can just go buy more gold? I would basically treat anything I found in-game as vendor trash.

If I was buying gold, I would probably go purchase the best equipment I could find and then repair it forever. No need for crafters.

    Win-win, right?

Only if they're selling gold. I'm not interested in reporting people for trading items or cashing out of a game they're not going to play any longer. Reread my earlier posts.

What good would that do but slow them down a little? There is no full loot PvP in this game to make dying a risk.

Why would there be a tax implication for turning around and selling something you already purchased? No one is making any money off these transactions. It looks to me like most are taking a loss, because they are throwing in other stuff they bought in the store as an incentive and selling the pledge for cost.

As for items, most people are taking store credits. Can't pay the mortgage with that.

My concern is people who are consistently making a profit in real money off the game by selling in-game currency. What part of "gold seller" makes no sense to you?

Frankly, the conversation is becoming tiresome I'm now more convinced than ever that the people complaining are buying or selling gold and worried that their cheat-to-win pond is about to dry up. I sincerely hope so.

People like me think that one should never have to buy gold/COTO, be it to gold sellers or through add-on store, in a game that was marketed as "pay once and only microtransaction for useless(from my point of view) features like housing".

Making COTO somewhat mandatory to restore items durability is not acceptable for me.

I'm not disagreeing with you on this point. I want COTOs to repair damage, not durability. I've already make that sentiment known to the devs. I want all equipment to eventually break and have to be replaced.

How would they deliver them? It takes about three items in your inventory and you're encumbered. ;-)

    I only offered one scenario.

    Read...the...second...sentence...of...my...post.
    Read...the...third...sentence...of...my...post.

I've yet to see anyone making great profits (or any for that matter) off selling in the forum marketplace.

Let's look at the last four WTS posts:

Selling RF Duke w/2x PoTs and so much more.... (2k under actual price)
WTS RF Virtual Collector (whole account) (paid $120, starting price $100)
CREDITS 4 SALE: 20% OFF ANY Amount 50 or more! Get your discount now!
WTS RF Lord Account ($1600 + $190 = $1790 + few "uniques. Asking $2500 - he even says the price is too high)

Wow, at that rate a McDonald's employee is making more money.
