I would like to add my heart felt thanks to the individual (and his rubber duck) that got these issues fixed for us Linux users.

Yes, I was using it to get around some of the bugs in the 64bit client. But it looks like now the 64bit is working well enough.

Absolutely. I would have been quite livid if I were unable to claim the lot I payed $500 for because the Linux client didn't work. I understand and am patient with the Linux client improving, but if the land rush is inaccessible (for any reason), that cannot be remedied.

I am but a simple daily messenger, flailing my arms wildly, in the office. Your thanks goes to Saint @oneandonly who dedicated many of the last minutes leading up to Release focused entirely on making sure the most critical Linux fixes had solutions. Down to the wire. :)

I would have thanked him by now, were I not banned (for life, seemingly, they won't tell me) from chat :p Who knows. Tell him thanks for me :p And thanks for your work as well, Attenwood.

I heard mention of @oneandonly (and Chris doing duty as rubber duck) during the telethon, but couldn't remember the name when I wrote the thank you. Didn't feel like rewatching hours of video to find the name ;-)
I should mention I am grateful for *all* of the work that *all* of the team put into this project, but I think fixing those Linux issues (that Unity apparently could not) is a particularly special contribution for me.

You guys (gals) are welcome. For any engineers that may be interested to know what the issue was, it was the assumption that float.Epsilon worked the same on all platforms. On Linux it was causing some pretty unruly behavior. There were 13 references to float.Epsilon so I can only assume there were that many bugs on associated to them.

It's worked out great for me - now I just have the usual Ultima problem... I need more hardware :D
My wife has called it the "Richard Garriot Tax" for over 20 years now!

Thank you very much Portalarium for the greatly improved support for Linux users. You've come a long way since R1... ;)

Game is basically unplayable on Linux for me again with 355. This is the main culprit, getting kicked from scenes faster than I can run through them so can't (for instance) travel through Nightshade Pass.

Here is an interesting twist. Just as the last player has left the scene. I can see the network congestion problem appear again. My network monitor goes through the roof. I barely get into my house basement. been sitting here for a few minutes. And no network issues. Probably because there isn't anything in the basement. No AI to manage.

Now I go back into the house and watch my network bandwidth go nuts again. Another player enters the scene. Back to normal. Network trouble icon goes away. I've been able to repeat easily. My Internet is 60 down / 20 up and has been very reliable for years.

    @Chris @Attenwood @DarkStarr @RichardGarriott

The "network congestion causing disconnection " bug, reported on Wednesday 8/3/2016 12:52 PM in here,
affecting Linux users, potentially preventing them from reserving their lot in their allocated lot selection group,
has now gone on quite a while without receiving a single comment from the developers. People are starting to get very worried.

Would it be too much to ask if the developers would at least acknowledge that they are aware of the bug and are investigating / working on a fix?

    Thank you for your attention.

Ok. Looks like I need to switch to my Windows client now. Linux is unplayable. Period.

If there are other's in the scene I'm ok. If I'm solo then forget it. doesn't seem to matter if I'm playing multiplayer or friends mode.

Our deepest apologies for not responding to this earlier. We have a fix for this that will go live tomorrow morning.
