I was talking with fairly new player and they said I love xxxxxx armor but not happy about the glow.

This lead me to think about dyes and armor that is enchanted. Yellow does not go with all the various dye colors.

Would possibly be cool if the enchanted hue was set to match the color of the primary dye on the item.

Or have the ability to turn your enchantment glow off.

I am sure turning it off may be something planned down the line since it is fairly new. But after taking a look, it can really mute the natural or dyed color of armor as well as the intricate detail on some pieces.

    Food for thought.

I would also appreciate a glow in the color of the armor, and maybe something that looks more like an aura.. not like a plastic coating ^^

Everyone glowing yellow and blue just doesnt look right to me. But im a minimalist. Don't want too much in your face bling and lights etc.

I can barley handle the spell glyphs! Can we turn them off yet?

That's what I'd prefer to see.

I try my best to have a natural looking armor, perfect for blending into a brown/green/grey environment and be seen less. And instead I'm a glowing yellow doll! *grumble*

I do not like the new effect at all, I think it ruins the style of the clothing in most cases.
A warm glow in some case could be cool but this has sharp edges that does not resemble a warm glow IMHO.

Is yellow really the ONLY color enchanted things come out as? :) It is awful bright too.. I'd like a different way to show off magical equipment, more than just a name change, but less than the glowing yellow. At least, let us manually turn down the effect in settings, like the target reticle...

I'm also not partial to the yellow stained glow effect that goes on any enchant. I'm currently suffering from a special enchant on my gloves (among others I've heard), where when I wear my gloves....they vanish from sight!!:eek:

On the contrary, I do like the glowing effect. I feel it makes crafted enchanted armour visibly special compared to starter armour. A bit like Goku from Dragonball going Super Saiyan (sorry for the manga/anime reference, but that's the closest similarity).

I hope they make it such that enchants will glow in the colour of the Gem used, rather than the generic yellow. Also the higher the level, the stronger the glow (with the highest level being the intensity we see now, and the lowest enchant being a barely visible shimmering colour).

First off, never feel bad for anime/manga references :p Secondly, I'm alright with the glow, if it turns out like you said and goes by gem color.

How can you afford to walk around constantly in your best enchanted gear?

Coto's are cheap. And if you do up the armor, shield and weapon preservation skills, combined with the obsidian pot that gives a bonus to all preservations, you do not take damage to it fast at all.

I'm a VERY early backer to the game, but... have only just started playing since things have gone persistent... I'm working up my crafting and I'm seeing people with all of these glowing armor elements.

How does one go about making enchanted armors and weapons? Is it only through the Alchemy Skill Tree with adding various gems to arms and armor? If so, I'm on the right track with working up the alchemy skill, I suppose.

"Enchanting" is done by an alchemist. The other skill trees, blacksmithing, carpentry, tailoring, etc. use "masterworking" to add improvements to crafted gear. Enchanting uses gold ingots, while the others use silver ingots.

On a side note, I merely ask for a switch to turn off the ungodly glow.

As an 'old' backer but admitted new player perhaps some of these videos will help.

The are in descending order by date made where older videos are at the bottom but that does not mean base concepts are out of date.

Hope this helps and welcome aboard officially into persistence.

It should start with latest one done but you can scan through the playlist of the videos with information you are looking for.

Yes. Not a big fan of the yellow effect.
