2. Devs confirm "loot sucks".

well, some loot is worse, but some is better. killed a troll lately?

 

I can confirm loot is getting better... before when I killed an archer in a 5skull area, I'd only get 4g... today I got 12g and 2 arrows.

 

Do we know when player made items will go into the world loot pool?

 

I did!....he dropped 15gold and nothing else

 

Likewise, and Lich boses too, 14g and 4 obsidian chips wooooo

Cant say Ive seen any evidence of "higher tier elves dropping rarer race gear" or "bosses dropping loot" and not found anything in a smashable container or anything new in a corpse, think someone forgot to turn on the new loot but
still remembered to nerf the old loot

Yes the one in the epitaph I realize thats probably a troll rather than the Troll in nightshade pass, but...yet...2000 HP troll gave less loot than a common bandit.

Spider loot really sucks (and always has).

 

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I think when they said loot sucks that they were referring to mobs in starter zones dropping the same stuff as mobs in hard zones, not much interesting stuff, etc. Don't think they ever meant that people weren't getting enough loot. Not saying that it doesn't still need a lot of work, but at least it's moving in a direction now that makes things more consistent and will make it easier for things to be balanced at some point.

I'm literally losing money by adventuring, and I'm not even buying reagents. I'm still losing gold. I only have gold because I sold pledge houses for gold.

If the goal is to limit gold at the very top for millionaires, then make sure you're targeting them specifically. Are they making their fortunes off the shoddy bows in 5 skull scenes? Probably not.

Why call this out in chats and the past two telethons and then do the exact opposite of what you said you were going to do about making loot better?

There is a long standing joke that when the NCAA gets really upset at USC cheating they will punish Long Beach State. I really feel like Port is hammering Long Beach State here.

 

Since Thursday I've been hemorrhaging gold and experience whenever I go out adventuring. My gold has finally leveled off at 4k but my suit or armor almost needs repairs again. And my experience, well that is another story. It's been on a steady and rapid decline. I'm now down to 2k adventuring and 25k crafting (point of reference i'm adv level 14 or 15). It was double that when r33 started. This has largely turned into SMotA [Skill Micromanagement of the Avatar]. I really need to take a break until they finish pulling gold out of the economy from the wealthy - I can't afford to play right now.

 

Barrels are supposed to contain loot, but all I have broken were empty. Also, cloth sacks and treasure chests that I used to loot in certain adventure scenes are no longer lootable (you can no longer interact with them). They only ever contained stuff like broken leather boots, but it was good for salvaging.

I'm looking forward to the next patches that will bring fixes and changes in the loot.

 

Make sure you are out of combat, and then you can interact with the sacks and chests.

I was told lower level "3 skull" obsidian golems are dropping decent gold now. And ive heard good things about the harder creature's drops.

Most gold-earning complaints seem to have been from lootable weapons not being worth as much anymore.

The number of gold coins you can collect doesnt matter, but the cost of the gold sinks like Taxes, repair kits, regs and fuels in relation to whats being dropped matters. And as far as i can tell, lot taxes might be the only big issue with the faicet rate changes recently

 

Yes Troll in nighshade gives great loot, generally same that gives 14k hp dragon, need to be nerfed
