New Player from houston

    Howdy all! Im 48 from houston,TX, a new player still downloading the client as a matter of fact. I was doing a Ultima search and found out that Lord British has a new game....well needless to say when I saw that I immediately stopped all my weekend plans and ARMA3 plans and put everything on hold. I had to try this game out. I was reading that it uses the unity engine which I have experience with doing 3d model mods for Kerbal Space Program. Is there any way to mod or submit models for incorporation into the game? OooH game is downloaded and installed...I got to go

    Thank you will do! BTW I just started got to the mirror and already it feels like the old Ultima (Before EA screwed it up). This is a dream come true for me. So many years I have been waiting and hoping and here it is. THis is awsome

    Welcome RacerX! (coincidentally, also the name of one of my favorite beers, from Bear Republic Brewing)

    This game is incredibly complex, in a good way. There are so many different aspects to engage in, from adventuring & exploring, to crafting, decorating a home, socializing, making music, roleplay, & PVP! I will repeat the advice to seek out the Hospitallers, they volunteer specifically to help new players. Also, check out avatarsradio.com, NBNN News, Echoes from the Caverns (fan fiction read aloud by players), The New Britannian Theater Troupe (they compose and perform plays IN GAME!). The Bear Tavern is a ton of fun, and PaxLair has some wonderful events like player crafting tutorial sessions. Someone is doing combat lessons too, though I can't recall offhand who it is.

    sotamap.org is also an indispensable resource.

    There is a lot of helpful information on the forums here, just be careful not to let the trolls get you down. I think you'll find our community to be overwhelmingly positive - Again the number one thing you can do to enjoy the game is to seek out members of these player organizations and connect with your fellow Avatars.

I have been here since 2013 and wow what a long time and did I say a long time in the development cycle. ;) I am Majoria in game, say hello anytime. I would be happy to answer any questions as well and happy to help you get help if I don't have the answer for you. There is so much to this game and much of it has a learning curve. A lot of systems are in, but most are still undergoing improvements and changes as the game is developed. So no worries if you see imbalance and some bugs, just report and give feedback and ideas to make this game even more fantastic than it already is. *cheers*

    Howdy.
    I have similar background for playing SOTA as you. I Grew tired of games where the entire focus before raiding level was grabbing quests in bunches and leveling while ignoring all content and immersion in a race to get to raiding level and chasing gear. Had this game over a year but began playing more after final wipe. The game is a lot of fun to me. Hope you enjoy it too.
