Just pushing the idea that every crafting category should have is own ingredient for masterwork... I don't think it is really realistic to have to get silver for every masterwork...

Absolutely. I'm fine with Gold for enchanting, although I do wonder why there are no reagents involved, but masterworking should actually use materials based on the type of products you craft.

I like it, but instead of using the product that it was made from (@Browncoat Jayson ), I would say (since it's masterwork), maybe use a step up or something. Copper - Bronze/Constantan, Iron - White Iron/Meteoric. For the already advanced metal it's made from, then use silver. Or, use 4 White Iron + 1 Silver for White Iron armor....or something like that, or 3/2, somewhere along those lines. Makes a little more sense to me.

I didn't mean the same material. Just that a item created from carpentry should use some type of wood, oil, etc, to masterwork, rather than metal. Cloth should use exotic threading, backing, etc. Metal items are fine using silver/gold, as those are often inlaid into metalwork.

There are lots of tree types that exist as SpeedTree assets that arn't in the crafting lifecycle yet. White Oak, Linden, Yellow Cedar, Aspen, Juniper, etc. Others that only exist in the wild, but can't be chopped yet. Those would be excellent sources for masterwork ingredients.

Aaahhh....alright, I see what you're saying now. Sorry, got a little confused for a second there. Although, I still like my idea regarding the metal version though, and I'm also fine with leaving gold for enchanting. Yep....thought about it some more, and I like your idea :D

Meanwhile, gold is a bit underutilized...

And theres all that tungsten and zinc and whatnot lying around...

Diamonds and other gems? Does anyone else think it sounds funny that those items are limited to alchemy?

Theres plenty of resources in the game world that dont have any use yet - why not make them part of the master work process, and give silver a break?

It's not realistic for well made armor to make you smarter either... magic!

I would imagine things like the Black Cutworm
I would actually love to see different items add different types of masterwork bonuses. But that would eat away from the RNG and make them much more deterministic. While many people would love it, that might not mesh with design goals.

Im tailoring. Using silver for masterpiece is totally broken. I do not mine minerals, should i buy silver (the most expensive good) for skilling my char?....

Cmon this can not be accepted easily.
