    Hello,

I was wondering if there is already a guide for increasing tailoring.
    Something like
10 to 20 craft this object
20 to 30 craft that object
    Any advise is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Best way to increase the base crafting skills is salvaging. No wasting resources.. just creating more.

People have been crafting bags and hats (wolf/bear) initially. If you do a lot of adventuring, check inside crates or any storage containers out there, they tend to include clothes that you can salvage to gain the skill level (make sure you have enough producer XP in the pool first).

Salvage raising crafting skill insanely fast was a huge downer

It's all about getting thousands of silver...

I crafted a massive amount of leather boots to get my tailoring skill high.

It's expensive in terms of fuel because of the sheer volume but animal hides & leather are pretty cheap to make. You only need 2 yards per pair of boots so it's fairly easy to just funnel silver into your tailoring skill.

Plus as others have suggested, salvage them all once you finish :)

Animal collars are also a good item to make in bulk and then salvage again.

Do you get silver back when you do it?

Not taming collars.. just the animal collars.
Animal collars are just off the tailoring station, before you turn them into taming collars.

Look which items you can make using the least amount of materials and salvage them again.

Make sure your crafting xp pool has enough in it. What worked for me was to stop lvling harvesting skills and then go out harvesting as much as you can. Get your xp pool up to about 100k. Then go back to tailoring. It should fly then :)

What you really want to do to make the skill go up faster, is have a big producer pool when you start. This might sound insane to some, but if you can build 1.5 million producer pool before you start, you will save on resources, and the skill will go up very fast. You will probably end with about 300,000 left. If you can find someone who has already gmed tailoring, and be partied with them when you do this, that will help make it 10% faster, saving 10% on resources as well. Lace is having a crafting event this upcoming saturday to do exactly that. wolf/bear hats only need 2 straps and the head to create the hat, so you might want to save up some heads and straps, as well, coin for fuels, and grind producer exp to build up a big pool for this event.

Any tips to attaining that size producer pool? Mining with everything off seems to net me 500 or so which is roughly 3000 nodes. Any faster way?

I made Lute Strings because they only take 1 leather. A bigger pool does increase your skill faster. I did a little chart and it takes about 750k xp to get from 90-100. I kept about 350k in my crafting xp pool to get 80-90 and then got 350k again to go from 90-95, then 96-97, then 98-100. Haha I just GMd that last weekend...Easy...just takes a lot of mining to get XP pool.

My tips for getting a huge producer pool. What I did was gm my swift gathering in field dressing, but did not get survey or meticulous. Then I use a bronze kit on my gathering tools + obsidian potion of expedience for a 70% speed boost, I do not use the potion that gives the meticulous bonus as that will make things take longer. I aoe spiders and wolves in deep ravenswood and skin them up. This will still take hours, maybe days to get that high of a pool, but, it is attainable, and will pay off in savings of resources on the production crafting skills. Another way, is to kill dragon in southern grunvald. Dragon gives 5000 producer exp when you skin it, and there is 2 gold and 2 silver nodes that spawn pretty fast where he spawns. I have not killed dragon since last release, it used to spawn pretty fast though.

So I'm a little late to this party... just getting into tailor salvage now that we have gambesons and I WANT PATTERNS! :D

Anyhow, just curious about anything that you might have to add or subtract from your suggestions since last year.

I'm also curious to know... does meticulous collection affect the chance to get obsidian carcasses- or is it just hides? If the latter, I have a lot of unlearning to do...
