    Gold ore has value, gold armor doesnt exist, and people use both gold ore and gold coins as currency.

    Do NPCs accept gold ore as currecy? Yes they do. As well as everything else of value

    We asked for different currency in the early days to the sound of crickets. Devs just aren't interested in a more believable coinage.

    We asked for copper pieces as standard or silver. We suggested something abstract, but I guess people prefer games where you walk around with thousands of "rare" gold coins in your pockets. :rolleyes:

    Gold is not the only currency. Gold coins are a measurmwnt of value for all the various currencies in game

    Welcome to my mind! I think I was bothered about this conundrum back in UO days... or maybe the game after that, but yeah. We should be able to smelt coins :D

    smelt coins into bars, and then press them back into coins, just to shine them up.

    i'm with you on this one, i think you're onto something here
