Since this post is not about how to do it the question is simple what is going on is it getting fixed, is it a bug, . . . . .

New post no need to explain how to exploit seeds or how to make plants grow that is not the issue . . . .

I planted three plants, grew them, harvested them, made dye, used dye . . .

I still have all my dyes and have colored my cloths and not one seed has been returned?

There are players selling plants? How do you get a seed back if you sell the plant?

Seriously what the hell is going on with these plants?

Need some very explicit explanations as to how they work, what you get, and WHY can I not just grow the plant freeze it and get a seed back for deco,

These things are so borked it is not even funny.

Some players are making millions of gold and others are SOL.

R32 started R33 still broken and no clear answer - R34 QA cannot even move to look at them??

 

I'm pretty sure if you sell it, you aren't going to get a seed back....because you no longer have the plant. Or are you talking about buying a plant and not getting a seed back?

 

I had the same issue while testing the bug - I would dye an item and it would appear to work, but dye stayed on me and no seed... When I logged out and back in the item was no longer dyed.

I found that if I separated the stack of dyes, then dyed the item - the item dyed and I got the seed back.

Thanks for the speculation, but I also cannot get my seeds back and want to know about the duplicating of the plants since there are now players with 100 which I would LOVE to have to deco with but I cannot even grow more, Soooooo

I would like an answer to this as well. I am one who bought some seeds from someone. Will they just vanish one day?

 

My guess is yes. I think it would be unwise to purchase Royal Elderberry seeds or plants (apparently there is a way, but it is an exploit). Given how they behave, I have to assume the intent is that they are not transferable, and that where that is happening the situation will be corrected. I may be wrong of course, but it seems logical.

 

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... I thought the seeds were not supposed to be sellable? I thought they were account locked. I remember not being able to put them in a chest before because of that and had to store them in my bank in previous releases. (I haven't messed with them this release since I heard there was a problem with them.)

 

Not supposed to be tradable so not transferable so not sellable - one of the reasons for this post.

I think there was/is a bug where if you plant one seed, grow it, make dye, you get 2 dyes. Then, when you use each dye, you get a seed back for each one.

So, that one seed turned into 2 seeds after going through the process.

I'm not sure if this still works (I haven't tried it since R32) but if so, that is how people are getting so many plants. One becomes two, becomes four, becomes eight, etc.

 

not asking how it is /was done, asking for how it is going to be fixed, what is going to be done with the obvious extra plants / seeds / dye that are out there being sold, and profited from,(( not me I can't )) and WHEN. I would really like my seeds back so I can at least grow more.

Clearly there was a bug / exploit but not being dealt with and some cant even grow more to even get ONE seed back, but the sound of crickets is deafening. (defeating)

 

IIRC, you could crit on the growing and get two fruit, which ultimately would return two seeds. Keep it up and you could get yourself a collection of Elderberry Plants or could sell them back to NPCs for a pretty penny.

This was already patched out of the game a couple weeks ago, and Chris zeroed out the value. The plants multiplying shouldn't be an issue anymore, though there may be some fallout if they need to reset everyone.

 

These special items should also probably not be boosted by greenhouses or water/ harmed by underground farming. They're really a pledge reward for a daily thing, rather than some agricultural skill.

 

I think that when you harvest the plant, you should immediately get one seed back. The fruit and dye should be freely tradable.

Also, I don't see how they could possibly prevent plants from changing hands.

 

The seeds are duplicating on harvest with high agriculture. (as in you get a seed AND a dye). This reward is now worthless.

 

What a mess. I believe all Royal Elderberry plants, royal purple dyes and seeds should be nuked and we should start all over - one seed given to each account that has the pledge reward. These plants should not multiply. Some people will be upset, but they took advantage of a bug.

 

Exploits will be dealt with harshly right ?

We should be at least able to sell the dye.

 

This is how it has worked for me.

1. Plant it.
2. Harvest it.
3. Make Royal Purple Dye
4. Use Royal Purple Dye
5. Got (2) seeds back

Then I re-did that process and my now (2) seeds resulted in (2) dyes and those dyes resulted in (4) seeds. I did that again with the (4) seeds and ended up with (8) seeds. Did it once more and now I have (16) seeds.

 

Personally I could care less about other's obtaining them, because I see it in the same way as I see the brewing thing, "teachable"... or in this case "spreadable"
