It seems with Release 34 the "Item Damage Resistance" (something i never understood) on crafted items is gone. But i still dont get what the naked numbers are trying to tell me.
I crafted that bronze helm with 17.1 Damage Resistance but it says 2.3% Damage Resistance, what is exactly half of the numbers the used material should give. Where are the left 14.8% ?

I really wonder if the helm's resistance is 2.3%, 17.1% or maybe cutted down to 11% ?

I would simply like to understand all this...

Item Damage Resistance is for armor breaking and Damage Resistance is for offset damage to the player... that's how I understand it please correct me if wrong.

But there is no Item Damage Resistance anymore... just Damage Resistance. I just wonder why naked numbers are so mysterious...

    The damage resistance % is applied to the items resistance. So base resist on the helm is 2% + (2% * 17.1%) = 2.3% (2 + 0.3).

Damage Resistance is not in %. It's 2.3 points of damage that are resisted. 2 is the base value that gets increased by a certain percentage (via set bonus if that's in and via masterwork) resulting in 2.3 points of damage that incoming damage is reduced.

The "max damage resistance" value is the maximum percentage of incoming damage that can be mitigated.

For example if you take 10 damage and have a Damage Resistance of 10, but a max damage resistance of 50%, you take 5 damage, because maximum of 50% of 10 can be resisted. If you take 100 damage with 10 total damage resistance and 50% max resistance you take 90 damage (because 10 < 50% of 100).

    This.

There are lot people still thinking that damage resistence is about the durability reduction.
