    lets be brutally frank, the only reason a development team would be insisting on this targetting system would be :

    A) They have a gun to their head
    B) They have little understanding how important targetting in a game like this is
    C) They really dont want the game to launch and be successful
    D) In an effort to be different and standout - they have become a joke and they refuse to acknowledge their mistake

    I believe the development team have a really huge opinion of themselves, their ideas and their skill set.
    For supposedly slick operators they seem to be struggling with the basics, if this game launches with this targetting system it will be in maintainence mode within a month
    CANT WAIT FOR THE REVIEWS

    E) They just haven't spent enough time and resources on the problem, despite how fundamental it is to having fun.

    Though I guess that's just a reiteration of B)

    I dunno, they're all mostly old guys on the lead side. Getting perfect feeling camera and targeting controls depends entirely on the dev's ability to link these things to our physical hand eye coordination, which I can understand older devs losing their touch on if they haven't played anything decent in a long time.

    I already said why the design was done earlier in the thread:

    F) Allows the devs to grief players
