itmes disappearing again

ran into two different bandit parties on the road by new foxtrot, wiped out all of them, took what was in the chest, the four gold harvest, some cotton, went to town to sell all the rusty axes n daggers i got, and none of them were in my inventory as well as all the nightshade, garlic, ash, and other reagents i had

 

seems like items only last in a certain area... i looted owl cave for iron n copper, when i left it was all gone from my inventory. i went into the kingsroad to gather more, when i checked inventory the only iron i had was the 2 i just piked up, and when i left to go to kingsport it was all gone, as well as all the rusty swords i took from the skeletons. i had 4 iron longswords for a long time, when i swapped for longbow in the world map, all my longswords vanished.
