I mean really, how hard is it to put a bloody space between the name and the [PVP] tag?

 

This reminds me when i go for my eye test and they say which one looks clearer the red or the green...well most of the time i cant see any difference....and here i have to really look as well...so none for me, they STILL look both the same!

 

Lol really. A space means so much. And lol bow Vale. That was exactly what I was thinking. Yes the eye doctor does say over and over now which looks clearer now, this one or this one. I'm sleepy now so I had to blink a few times to even see the space or know there was one. Lol. I thought someone's telethon question was to have an icon instead and changing words and the devs said perhaps they could do something like a skull and crossbones instead of the words.

 

I guess it just bugs me that it's all jammed into my name.

I agree. Instead of [PVP], I'd rather an avatar's name turn to a different color. Maybe purple? Some color that isn't used to show a creature's difficulty level.

 

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I like that it says PvP. Don't get me wrong, I think another color would be good too, but with the text it's more obvious, especially for newbies.

 

I would hope the noobies arent flagging PvP until they know enough to be able to PvP otherwise were going to get another zillion ban PvP threads going.

Well, newbies who have an MMO background, at any rate, and know what 'PvP' means. I think a lot of gamers know, but I'm not really sure where the assumption comes from that everyone knows all the common MMO terms.

I think an icon would be better. Skull, dagger, etc.

I was thinking earlier maybe if there was someway to even take it out of the nameplate, like a spell effect -like Oracle eye floating over the flagged player's head. Because I don't really like how the game is basically requiring nameplates, which are meta-gamey, and there's no real effort to moving the game mechanics outside of them.

 

To me, all other PvP enabled avatars have red names. I don't know if that's because they're all way more powerful than me or just everybody that is PvP is simply red.

 

Get rid of the [PVP] tag.

Your name is already blood red to others.

 

Looks like right now it's only red to other PvPers. Maybe without having the tag preventing people from being able to go into the zone as non flag and then jump on the folks with the flag one.

Assuming that this meta gaming tactic is undesirable for most people.

 

I didn't realize that since I'm not in pvp. They should just get rid of the pvp tag and let that be the display color for all avatars.

 

The issue with having the tag vs. a color is for people who have color blindness.
