I've been wearing a few of the Emps' New Clothes items - and wouldn't you know - THEY REALLY ARE REAL!

Real enough to need repairs anyway... phfff... imaginary clothing indeed.

Oh yeah... they're for real - in this shot I'm wearing the cloak, crown, gloves, and boots and getting the armor set bonus.

    Actually...
For those of us who RP and don't want to have a helmet/hat that hide our face / hair or don't want to have a cloak that hides our clothes / armor. Then these still give the full set bonuses for armor while being totally invisible. Very nice indeed.
Also since so few bought them since they were such an obvious april fools joke they can now be sold to collectors for more than they cost.

Since they do bestow an armor bonus when worn they are of course very real. As such it seems natural they would need repair. However find the thread to repair them with is what separates the tailor from the amateur.

Those gloves look amazing, no wonder they cost money to repair!

I do recall the devsgiving a brief mention of functionality specific to these invisible pieces during a Postmortum... I think it was the one right after the sale ended. Anywho, there was mention of dyes that could be used on these that wouldn't color the garment but the avatar instead. Haven't heard anything since - and obviously, that functionality isn't in game anywhere or I'd have glowing hair :D I didn't much like these pieces when I first got them, but I'm finding some use for them... if the dye thing ever comes through, that'll be really cool.

Warpaint! Cool. Maybe we can get protective tattoos too and use pine pitch to spike up our hair. :)

Now I see why you've been so successful at PVP. I wouldn't mess with that dude either!

Any secret things with these? I have a set but I don't know the benefit of having them.

And I thought you were a poor pauper @Duke Avery , now I see your crown in your screen shots! :)

:) no secret that I've been able to discover. If we could get tattoos or dye the never needs washing undergarments everyone has to deal with - that'd be something.
