I decided NOT to do that but thankyou for the suggestion. by the way...it is at 24% now. well, hopefully it will be down by in the morning. I have the new 17 " i7 Alienware laptop and a Falcon Northwest desk top so I dont think the problem is with either pc.

This is a big deal imo. I'm lucky I have a comp smart friend who helped me figure out the torrent method. Without him I may have given up on this game because of 24hr plus downloads :(

If it was like this the first time I tried to download the game to try it out, I would have gotten so frustrated I would have said 'screw it'! I hope that isn't happening to someone right now.

Yes, we know steam works ... some of us, maybe even a lot of us, refuse to install that junk onto our machines.

I feel you. Almost rage quit. Should be the first thing they fix. No point having a first class game if players can't log in after every release. Frustrate and alienate players.

So now I have to go download a 3rd party program(a torrent downloader and/or steam) to get my game to work?? Whose bright idea was that?

Also why the fruck is @Berek pointing people to this thread and not providing any answers?

Yea I am getting pissed. This is just one more nail

It has always been like this since the start. Since their patcher use p2p wonder what the problem could be.

I have learnt to just torrent if I want to keep my sanity and still keep my full head of hair.

maybe they aren't seeding it? I haven't spent much time looking into the problem. Still reading...

On the QA server, upgrading to R37 was easy. Did it on the same computer. I didn't expect problems with patching to be honest.

It hasn't even started the download here. But it's good to know it's still seeding. So that's not the problem. Hmmm....

So on windows it's downloading the patch. On Linux it's not. Seeding on linux is broken perhaps?

    Steam Dec 9, 2016 build

I am a newbie and have only patched a few times, but it has always been several minutes at the most for me to patch on Steam for Mac. (Yeah, I know it's a crazy old laptop, but I am under the weather so not able to play on my desktop for a while. SotA has been working fine on it the past few months.)

4-5hours ago, Steam showed a 1 hour 30 minute download time so I closed all other software, rebooted, and started the patch again and let it run. In the 5-10 minutes I watched it, it was varying up and down by a few minutes but stuck around 1 hour 30 minutes.

Now, 4-5 hours later the download times are bouncing around between 3-5 hours and now and then shows as high as 17 hours. It sounds like everyone is having the same problem, just chiming in with my specs. (And vent a little, too.)

    G'nite! (and good luck!)

So has anyone figured out a fix for the 0 -> 519 issue? Is there a way to get it to patch from the current version to 519 rather than starting from 0?

We apologize about the slow performance of our patcher :(. If you do not want to use Steam, have you tried the idea suggested in the quote by the OP of the thread?

Yes, I am currently patching via torrent, but its from version 0 to 519, I am looking to find out if its possible to patch from the current version rather from starting at 0. Also, will I need to patch from 0 to 520 once this is done?
