Seems super fast now, faster than Steam for me at the moment. Getting 7+ MBPS on SOTA and <1 MBPS downloading a steam game I play at same time right now.

Had a storm come through this morning and it fried my Windows so I'm reinstalling everything on my computer but wanted to acknowledge the improved download speed.

The magic of Steam :). We generally recommend trying to download patches from Steam if our client download process seems especially slow.

I was using the default SOTA patcher and it was doing better than steam. I was downloading a different game on steam at same time and SOTA was blowing it away.

I realize patch days may be a different story but wanted to give some love to the SOTA patcher that takes much bashing.

Although I personally use Steam on my main account as it patches much much faster. It is worth noting that linking an account to Steam kind of prevents you from selling it on. Also a lot of people don't like Steam either.

The client patcher really is in a dreadful state due to its speed (and errors). If I was a new player who purchased the game outside of Steam I would have probably quit within the first two hours of trying to patch.
