Jog / Sprint Animation

First off: R38 is awesome thanks for all of the hard work.

Opinion: I've got a male avatar, and while I noticed that the sprint animation is much more fluid, it is also somewhat more rigid: squared shoulders, leaning in, like a linebacker's run or soldier's.

Suggestion: Perhaps consider using the pre-38 animation for light armor wearers and R38 animation for heavy armor? I can definitely see someone wearing full plate running as I am, but being a cloth and leather wearer it makes my character feel much less nimble.

Question: Anyone else have opinions? People with female avatars--any feedback?

 

I agree with the new animation. Before when sprinting I believe the avatar leaned a bit more forward into the sprint, now it is not as pronounced and more "squared shouldered" as blacksheepboy had observed. The animation is also slightly odd also when sprinting and running side to side. Again, the avatar does not lean with the sprint.

I think the animation of my avatar walking is worse than in R37.
It looks fine from above.
But looking directly from behind he is hobbling strangely. Could be related to the cloak. Male + cloth armor except the chain mail chest + cloak.
The animation is more fluently but feels wrong.
Could be that I am used to the old animation though.....

 

I had this effect when I was overweight. Not sure if it's an intended animation or not, but when I wasn't overweight, it was gone.

 

yes it looks a bit unnatural. I hope we can tweak it, but clunkiness feeling has definitely been improved. Climbing around on rocks today was so much fun.

 

When I'm overweight my character looks like he has to go potty REALLY bad.

 

I liked the previous sprint animation better.

 

You look like you got a full diaper to me. Glad I dont have to change it.

 

Well I am so happy about us getting animation progress and again go climbing and trying out things. I just want them to tweak it a bit for us. I do hope it is possible.

 

The new avatar run/walk animation is too stiff. Looks like a mannequin. No sir, don't like it.

 

Lol for some reason it just kinda looks like prancing lol.

i dont hate it, but it just made a goofy feel. Had NO idea why my char seemed off a lil , till i realized it was everyone lol

 

The current prancing-run animation is beyond bad. It's actually painful to watch.
I hope they will adjust it.
