Someone please help me understand fizzle chance

My fizzle chance has gone way up. All my armor pieces are producing more fizzle than is listed for the pieces and now my bow alone adds 14% fizzle but lists nothing!

 

Yeah fizzle went up for me 5% across the board. Now using a wood shield. At least ice shield is back to normal.

 

which kind of armor do you use? I was fizzling more definitely but I'm in plate. It will be a nice challenge, but I look forward to figuring it out

 

It's in the patch notes; there was some sort of math fix with fizzle chance. Unfortunately, if you use two handed weapons, your fizzle went way up.

 

I'm using elder elven armor and I removed each piece one at a time and each one is contributing more to fizzle than is listed for the piece.

 

Training spells helps reduce fizzle. Also look at training Follow through in the focus tree.

 

I could be totally wrong on this, but i'd really want the fire resistance skills. So i need to get there in the tree; however that means i got to train the previous ones. Now i'm a plate user, so now this became a total pain in the ass.

Is there an idea behind this?

 

This sounds like a bug.

 

Because of the way they're calculating fizzle now, it's unclear if it's a bug or not. However, the elven pieces list slightly less fizzle than say the equivalent founder pieces, so I'm going to check that later.

I would suggest training your spells to get resistance in something other then plate.
