Fizzle Rates ARE NOW A JOKE

Please issue out a reset book for everything.

What a bunch of waisted time. I literally can't cast anything.

No more full plate mail casting tier 4 spells :'(

 

No more melee casting anything other than healing or earth.

Period

 

Just got some great info from the dev team and as always they are addressing this. No longer an issue should be resolved by Monday.

We have such a hard-working group making an awesome game for us.

Yep sounds like theyre getting on with fixing and balancing. I really dont mind that a high level plate warrior is not also a high level sorcerer.

 

Switched to a buckler shield and now back to normal.

 

While I agree that a warrior in full plate shouldn't really be able to use the highest level spells effectively, they should allow those players to re-spec if they nerf them too hard. In a classless system like this it sucks to have your build decimated, even if it needed it.

 

has this changed? only noticed my blink is a little tougher when I'm moving I use Chain/Cloth + Shield healing rain chaos bolt etc don't fizzle any more than usual

 

Fizzle rates are currently too high for armored characters. The rates should be reduced for Earth and Life spells.
For other types of spells, most people use cloth anyway, so fizzle is not a problem there.

 

Personally, I think the biggest offender on this is the movement penalty. But I don't have the numbers in front of me.

But as a leather wearing, pole arms my fizzle on teleport is 40 when I move it goes to 56.

Now my penalties I get are from leather which is slight, two handed pole arm (still need to test) and finally movement, and it seems movement is the biggest hit.

 

Agreed. For the paladin build to work - Life spell fizzle needs to scale appropriately for heavy armor.

 

Btw, full mage 0% Fizzle Chance.

Pala with 2h, Heavy armor and Healing without appropriate Fizzle Chance is OP.
A Pala is neither mage nor cleric.

 

Seems to be the case, i like it.
My biggest problem before was I had to many spells to choose from with half heavy / half cloth and shield this made my blink slightly harder to use which seems like a good way to balance

 

Clerics in most MMOs where chainmail or plate... soooo....

 

Orks in most fantasy settings are green, so .... what.

Clerics and Paladin's are hybrids, their magic is low compared to full mages!
As for beastmasters (tamers), rangers and many archetypes more.
This said, if they wear more than cloth and wear any weapon or protection what isn't magic like the announced books and orbs they should have a significant fizzle chance!

Yeah because ignite weapon AND fist anything is so needed by non-melee...

 

You can try to cast it , but not without fizzle chance.
Main profession of a hybrid isn't sorcery it's blades or shield or dagger or bow or whatever and any magic is just support and can tried to be casted, but should have a fizzle chance , even full mages have fizzle chance when they move.
0% fizzle is for full mages with cloth and wands , standing still concentrating to cast.
