I think the dev's should consider changing GM bonus to 120 (for now and more later). 100 (of 200) is a dime a dozen now and it would be awesome if the GM badge actually meant something. People seem to race to get as many GM's as they can (well, me too kinda). Having 5 GM's at 120 is a hell of a lot more impressive then 50 at 100 if you ask me. This would also do a good job of making people focus on specific skills instead of everything (at least the people who do this). The only thing that would be effected is training.

Oh I like this idea... progressive titles.

150 could be Legendary as most skills at that level require a ton of time investment!

I don't have one GM. I think you're way ahead of the curve, friend.

UO capped it at 120. I like capping it at 150.

All of this stuff is just an equation comprising time passing, the number of people playing the game, and the number of people playing the game who have an interest in getting there.

So it doesn't matter what it's capped at, people will get there eventually -- if they want to get there. The latter is what really determines the number of people at the cap, not the cap itself.

Particularly when it comes to really basic, grindy crafting, there's no real skill to it. Just a desire to get there, and the time to do it. A good reason not to get caught up in numbers, honestly.

Best just to bury the skill in some out of the way hidden folder. We don't want anyone to focus on the numbers here, just play the game.

GM's at the current level are FAR from "a dime a dozen now" for the average avatar, and suggests you hang with a bunch of power players.
I therefore disagree that we should move GM beyond the 100 that it is now, and it currently DOES mean something to the average avatar.
I see no need for any recognition beyond the current GM.... If you want to take skills higher than 100 help yourself, but I see no use in changing what we have.

What seems reasonable now should look different from what seemed reasonable 2 months ago and what is reasonable at release will probably look different from what is reasonable now.

For comparison, I play 4+hrs / day since October and have no GMs. I was never skilled enough to do a single CP when they were lucrative. My DR XP rate is about half of what it was a week ago.

I guess my TLDR is the people with 10+GM today are inherently blind to how difficult GM is. Even if you take a skill from 0-100 today, that doesn't simulate the XP pool rate you would get as a 0x

    Lol!

I have 8 GM's. I work 50 hours a week with a family. I have dozens of skills at 90+. I generally XP farm for generally 1 hour a day and a few hours on the weekend.

If you doubt that note this, I just netflixed the entire Voyager series of 6 seasons, Next generation 3 seasons. So no, Im not on all that much for long periods of time.

"Power gamers" right now have 50+ GM's

    Dime a dozen... yes.

Usually i dont agree with you. But your right.
As someone in a guild with a lot of new people, id average it at 3-4 weeks for the main gm. ( thats what i think it takes an average person to do a gm, assuming they DONT PUSH for that gm purely. ).

1.2 mil exp for most GMs.

Elder wolves give 1250 exp per kill.
    Thats 960 wolves.
    2 wolves a minute = 8 hours to gm.
    1 wolf a minute = 16 hours.

Cant do wolves? Okay 3 skull bandits are about 550.. same concept.
When you push 1 specific skill, gm'n doesnt take that long.

Even if it takes you 3 weeks to get to 3 skull.. its not hard to gm without exploits.

Walk around world map.. its not uncommon to see people at 5 -50 into some 100+.

And what portion of the pledge base do you think those guys represent ?
    Dime a dozen.... NO.
The people to whom you refer are the less than 1%, and we could have a long chat about how they got those 50+ - but that's another topic now isn't it...

From my experiance it looks like the average right now is 2-3 gms.

6 months from now, id bet thatll be much much higher.
    But this is purely speculation.

I like idea or a title system.. with increasing mentoring benifits. 100. 125. 150. 200 or something.

Also flesh out the mentoring system so that the longer you train with the same GM player, the more benefits you get. Preferably the GM trainor should also get something back - should be something meaningful.

Want a real title? Be a billionaire like Bill Gates. So you got a skill to 100? 120? 150? 200? Just means you had more time to play the game than anyone else. "Pro-grinder" would be a more apt title. No change is needed for the GM label at 100 skill level.

A lot of this seems to be: "I've got mine, so let's make it harder for the new players so they can never catch up." Or less mean but just as selfish: "I'm bored so let's make stuff harder."

I'm not only talking about this suggestion but a number of changes people want to see to make things more "interesting" or "challenging".
