Details: Recipes are not required for some carpentry items. The player can simply put the ingredients into the crafting window and learn the recipe.

Steps to Reproduce:

1) Have materials and some carpentry skills

2) Attempt to craft some of the following without having the recipe in your crafting book:

a. Basket

b. Wooden Bed Frame

c. Animal Whistle

d. Pine Heartwood

e. Mug

f. Bench

g. Dinner Bench

Some of the simple recipes in each crafting tree are discoverable. Feature, not a bug. Use to be, all of them were discoverable.

 

Seems to me that re-teachable and teachable were meant to replace "discoverable". Although it could be a feature, I'm assuming this should be cut and dry- you need to learn a recipe to build something. Players should either start with it in their book, find in a quest, get the recipe from another player, or get it from a vendor. I'd love to believe the typical avatar in game would have a teletype version of sotacraft.com to get the ingredients, but I'm not jiving with something that would require an outside/non-Portalarium game resource as being an intended feature.
