I bought the game and a village lot.. I didn't place it during the land rush.. Where should i place it now? Is there any npc towns that still have village lot space? Would i be better off placing in a player owned city?

    Thanks for any help.

many but not all npc (story) towns are packed. many of the non-story (player-run) towns are pretty empty yet, and there are quite a few in good locations. this should be a good starting place, even if it's a bit behind

All NPC towns are full last I checked, your best option is a POT or wait for the next continent to come online. Note that once you place a lot, even if it's rent free, you still need to log in once a week (or was it once a month?) to refresh your permissions, else it goes to the crows.

you do realize when i say player-run town, that's not a player-owned town? it's an npc town, it just doesn't have story.

    there is plenty of space.

There are village lots open in Jaanaford and Westend the last time I checked, which are both NPC towns. :)

Oh yeah, PaxLair just got totally rebuilt, post dragon attack. It is one of the most natural feeling layouts I've seen yet, actually feels like an old town instead of plopped down houses. Check it out. For vendoring Ordinis Mordis and New Brittania Market, and Bamboozle just got a town called Novia Market, it's in its infancy.

I was not aware of that. Thank you for the information.. Do those towns have banks and trainers?

There are also plenty of NPC spots still open in Harvest and Estgard for example. Whomever said they are all taken didn't look to hard.

Sounds like a similar situation to how I started-- First Responder Pledge with a Village Lot.

Some things to consider- A village place anywhere deed will work in a Player Owned Town, which in many ways forms communities better than NPC towns. Also, you can place a village deed in a row location until a village location opens up. You can camp for village locations by observing when the lots expire and that can help you place in a full town.

    Sincerely,

    Engineer

The FAQ says of tax-free lots:
Backers at Ancestor level and above receive a tax exempt Lot Deed but the lot can still revert after an extended amount of inactivity (4 months at Ancestor level, 5 months at Citizen level, and an additional month per level after that).

I think that if you have a taxed lot, it will remain claimed as long as the tax is paid.

Having a village lot deed to place is a great opportunity to explore the land and there are certainly NPC towns that still have available lots. In addition, very many PRTs are still virtually empty, so if you don't care to settle down in a Player-Owned-Town (POT), there is no need to do so. Some POTs are fabulous, though, and certainly worth considering.:)
