    RG owning 50% plus of shares will likely 1) infuse cash into the company or 2) borrow to keep the game going. All common things for a young business to do. As for the investment into shares, I am in. I believe in the project and think RG will make it work. A fool and his gold are not soon parted; a myth. Money just returns to its rightful owners. It is never for a fool to own gold; they just get to hold it to keep it warm for capitalists.

    In the end, we all want the same thing. A successful game.

    Prefered stock holders recieve dividends and dont own a real ownership in the company or have voting rights.

    Really it comes down to a dividend return on funds. If the company turns out exceptionals products you could do very well, if they fold then....

    All I can say is:

    I now own .005% of SOTA. (err... well, will be soon but Im locked in)

    I have faith in them despite the critics.

    That's a matter of taste. Somewhat.
    In most cases i actually prefer voting rights.
    But game development is so far off from what i do or know "stuff" about that it's possibly better that i have no vote, lol.

    Well, considering his avatar, I thought it was appropriate. ;)

    Aside from that, throwing a dart at the list of S&P 500 stocks and putting all your money in the result is probably a better investing strategy than this.

    You pick a list of start ups, a shot gun and invest in everything you hit. If one makes it through, you are golden ;-)

    Well ok, I read the thread.

    I dont think a single person who talked about the money flow mentioned that they have an add on store that generally looks like it brings in about $100K to $200K a month alone with the current base alone.

    They told us what the $500K was for, instead of hiring a big distributor (If I recall right), they will pay and do it themselves and use this money for it.

    I would bet you they pretty much keep even with money in the $500K cash range. remember, they just HIRED more people, probably because they had enough extra money coming in to do so and maintain $500K cash.

    Somebody correct me if I'm wrong:

    But looking at the cash flow spreadsheet, if I'm reading their projected revenue right, at the 'low end' they are expecting to sell 20,000~30,000 new copies per quarter (if the price of the game stays at $40 / unit)?

    (The above is based on the Game Revenue for Ep1 / $40 current price, less the 30% commission steam normally charges - note I'm taking a 'low' view of all this.).

    I think at the moment we have around 65k game accounts (200k forum accounts)?

    Yeah the more i am here in this topic the more it's grinding my gears.
    There are of course ways to open an US bank account but the work and the costs that come with it aren't worth the efford for a one time use.

    Edit: Non the less i wrote to seed invest support for a clarification.
    If they come up with a solution i will post it here.

    It's entirely possible they're running up against Security & Exchange Commission rules, and there may not be an easy, legal solution.

    Reaching official launch with zero funds, sounds like graduating college with no debt.
    How much do most game companies have invested in a game when the officially release it to the public?
    How much do they need to make from sales to break even, after the game is officially released ?

    Nah, the law Obama signed only allowed crowdinvestors to fleece low information American citizens, citizens of other countries are governed by their country's applicable laws.

    people who are buying in assume the cash store will keep bringing in that amount.
    soon the 10 or so whales that are floating the store will run out of things to buy

    You know when I first read this, I was like WTF!!1elentyone!? After the video of Richard and Starr joking about how they BS'd some vaporware together and then 'oh noes sh!t just got real.' I read people's responses to that video and then this offering and I think "man those guys have my fellow avatars completely buffaloed."
    Instead of going full Caska about it I'ma step back a minute...

    Well you want an RPG made by someone who didn't go the little *&£$ route and have to kowtow to a publisher well this seems to be the cost of it. I am fascinated to see how long something like this can go on I'm ready to ante up as long as I like the look of things but I'll fold if not.
