Here's what i've gathered from various sources :

    1. Look up in the sky to identify constellations.
    2. Line up the planet at the center of the moondial with the "brackets" of constellations.
    3. The small planets/moons that are between the center planet & that bracket represent the cabalist(s) that are currently laying siege to a town (NPC town depends on the constellation/virtue, IE Justice = Kiln).

Am I getting this right? I'm having a tough time actually correlating this data to in-game events so i'm wondering if my logic is wrong or if something is not working as intended. Thanks!

Finally, i'm not able to identify 3 moons :

Here's what I have, starting from the smallest/center ring. I wanted to double-check this as well since some of the info I found online is outdated.

    1st ring : Daedalus
    2nd ring : Honor
    3rd ring : ? (maybe Honesty)
    4th ring : Valor
    5th ring : ? (maybe Justice)
    6th ring : Sacrifice
    7th ring : ? (maybe Compassion)
    8th ring : Spirituality
    9th ring : Humility

    Thanks for any help :)

If you are looking at the sky to see the constellations (at night an astrolabe really makes this much easier) then you can see what planets are in front of the constellation and you don't need the moondial at all. When a planet is crossing the constellation, there is a chance that the town will be under siege.

Actually the "moons" are planets and they are named after the anti-virtues. Refer to The Heavens and Virtues of New Britannia.

Great info, thanks! So, let's say the planet of Injustice is crossing the sword constellation (Valor), all towns that have a Valor devotional have a chance to be under siege with Nefaras, cabalist of Injustice as the boss? Anyone know the % chance?

It doesnt seem to be a 100% chance, as planets observed entering constellations have not triggered sieges many of the times. Using ordinis as an example, 3 planets were observed entering Compassion and two entering honesty, both being shrines that are in ordinis, and no siege was initiated, but leaving the town had shown the landscape was dotted with sieges here and there.

Curently theres a bug logged that the constellations ont he moondials do not line up with the ones in the sky correctly, making it difficult to use the moondail.

Ya my understanding is that there is a % chance for POTs to get a siege when a celestial event is triggered. It doesn't always happen.

How about the NPC towns linked to their specific virtue (Kiln for Justice, for example). Are those 100% ?

i think so. they were all 100% and that patch only reduced the frequency for pots.

Sounds about right, i've been chasing Dolus for awhile now, and everytime the constellation was on the horizon & the Deceit planet was lined up with it, the NPC town had a siege and Dolus was the boss. Finally figured it out (caveat : my sample size isn't very big but so far so good).

Although I still have no idea how PoT siege bosses are decided, since many virtues can be sieged at the same time from various bosses, how does it pick one and how can you tell? The mystery continues :p

Does anyone have a video tutorial out for this yet? Cause I have no idea what I'm looking at on the moondials. I'm being very lazy about it. :)
