PVP MUSIC

You must be confusing me with someone else. I don't PvP nor have I played Shroud for many months. Don't really plan to at this point either. I'm just hanging around to sell the last of my rares and rewards.

All you ONBE are starting to look the same to me (joking) It's been a long time since I've contacted the Poets Circle. I don't see @Holt listed in our @ database. So my apologies to both of you

My question to @Kailef , is there any new PvP (player made) music coming for our upcoming PvP scenes later this year?


These are from WOW people. I don't think (whatever the "horse voice" is called) is what could best suite actual PvP.

I see it presented as PvP music, but I don't think , many players are listening to such while they are actually fighting... "are they?"

As far as I am aware, there hasn't been any new PvP music requested by Portalarium. However, I also know that the Poets' Circle produced and/or reviewed seventy-five tracks that were approved for use in SotA. I haven't been everywhere there is to go in-game of course, so there's a reasonable chance that I'm wrong about this, but I don't think that all of the tracks that were produced are even in-game yet! As such, I suspect that Portalarium wouldn't be looking for new music until such time as all of the existing music is in use, you know what I mean?

As far as PvP specific music, nothing like that the music you used as an example in your last post is ever going to actually appear in-game. I'm not Portalarium staff so I am not speaking authoritatively on the subject, but everything about that music violates the ruleset that Portalarium has imposed for music up until this point. There would have to be a massive shift away from the current requirements, which are period-specific, acoustic music, before anything even vaguely resembling the examples you gave would be accepted.

The closest music I can think of is would be the three "Combat" tracks, which are still very different than your above examples:

 

That sounds like they maybe have what could be needed already There's always been speculation on the PvP community's part that somehow their issues haven't been pre-planned for, yet through my enquiries investigating the subject, I find the opposite to be true and that Portalarium has planned way ahead for future content to be added.

I would hope not I see many PvP music videos listed on YouTube and it's always something I don't think could make it into any game.

Those sound wonderful! It's more movie soundtrack quality and would make great background. Thanks so much for having taken the time to reply @Kailef ! Most posted Videos scare me - if something like this would make its way into the game, i am glad to be able to turn music off.
Most time i have Music off, although some of @Kailef titles are nice.

to degenerate music to be just background, mainstream, aggressive statements and representing all this bs about money, sex, power, killing, owning... lame... just lame

 

@Stundorn, I agree completely! Mechwarrior 2's music was awesome! It added a lot to the feel of the game without ever pulling your attention away. Instead of distracting you, it drew you in and made more more focused on what was happening. I just had to give you a shout out for that.

Like I said before, I don't know if Portalarium is going to want more music in this chapter. Maybe, but I doubt it. I'm reasonably sure they'll want new music for chapter 2, whatever comes after "Forsaken Virtues". When and if they do, I'm certainly happy to apply my meager skills and make some more.
