I was switching between PTS and The normal server and its downloading at 300 bytes/s.
Actual bytes not kb. I know there's a steam sale on but every other game maxes out my
    connection when patching.

Anyone else having issues with this?

I ran into this installing at my brothers house. He had a PCI wireless card connecting to a wireless router which was not far but in a different room. We moved the computer a few inches and LO and BEHOLD, back to 5 MB/s

This issue could be the answer, but keep in mind that slow network throughput can be caused by any of a multitude of things. Most likely, it is not Steam servers or the game servers, rather some aspect of your home network.

Perhaps I was not clear. I can use steam to download say ... Fallout 4 at 2.2 MB/s.
However when try to switch back to production SOTA from PTS, the download is a steady 300 bytes/s not even 1kb/s.

I usually get my peak speed when patching with steam. Be it ptr or live version.

Me too at home I usually max out at 15MB aka 150 Mb/s. However at both locations im stuck at 300 bytes - 15 Kb's woooo!

(two different ISPs) thought i'd test the isp to. Both locations are max speed for other steam downloads.

Problem solved, nuke it from orbit. It must have been an issue switching from play test server to production.

To be specific, I uninstalled and reinstalled SOTA.

All was well until I reach 5.7GB / 6.7GB now we're down to less than 1kb/s again.
It was downloaded fine at about 44Mb/s then at 5.7 it dropped right out. I hope this doesn't happen at home.

Perhaps it's time to open a bug report?

I've had the same issue yesterday and today trying to get the QA from STEAM.

Yep, same. I can d-load anything else in seconds, including the regular Shroud client, but when I switch to d-load QA Steam says 'more than a year' for the d-load time.

I was able to download it later on. The main catalyst for me was removing it from steam and reinstalling (either as test or production).

Confirmed the issue when I went home. I had to remove SOTA completely and reinstall for it to patch right.
I thought it did this automagically when you switch the pull down from beta to production.

I'm seeing much slower patching speeds today than normal.. it was dropping to 50-100k/sec, especially towards the end, when I normally average about 10-15 MB/sec.
Quitting steam completely - and reloading, brought it upto ~ 1 MB/sec... and I'm letting it putter along at that rate for now.
