As I was just reflecting on this being the shortest night of the year, it also came to me that in 6 months from now, we will all be playing the full commercial release of Episode 1 for SotA!

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the dev team for their more recent efforts to broaden both the depth and frequency of communication with the community, and also for continually incorporating our feedback into meaningful contributions to the development process.

As we look to the final sprint toward Launch Day, I would be interested to hear from the devs as to what- specifically- you most need from us the community to help you bring forth the best version of Shroud possible in the remaining time we have left.

So- @Lord British @Lum the Mad @Chris @DarkStarr - I hope it isn't being too presumptuous of me to ask on behalf of the community: How can we best be of help to you between now and Launch?

Constructive feed back with lots of examples and less arguing back and forth so they can find peoples great ideas. *ducks head* ;)

The quality of ideas around here seems to scale with bankroll, at least from what I've seen implemented.

Quality feedback is quite subjective. I certainly wouldn't say that it scales with contribution. I've been around long enough to know that isn't true. Although it may influence how loud your voice is. ;)

They probably need us to be less emotional and be more objective with any topics of things we want them to change.

They tend not to answer questions like this in threads like this... I can understand their reasoning... They would then be expected to answer every question all the time.

The accepted medium to get questions answered are during the Monthly Post Mortems and Quarterly Telethons. There are ways to submit questions beforehand, and during the events. Of late, any questions not answered during the events are answered after the fact in a Forum post.

If you or @Jaanelle DeJure would like this question answered by the Development Team, I suggest you use the established methods to get developer responses.

See my post above. They have well established mechanisms for answering questions. Use them. All 4 of the Devs cited are present at every Post Mortem and Telethon and there specifically to answer backer questions.

They also just said, in the last telethon, that they read and respond to posts in the forum. This is an established method of communication. It's been that way since the beginning. ;)

Yeah... really @Rufus D`Asperdi I'm not sure why you're nitpicking on this... but I can certainly offer the question up again for the next Postmortem.

While I'm not offended by the lack of response here, I'm also not surprised because I can only imagine how many times the devs get tagged in a post. So I'm sure they miss a lot of them.

However, for the record, I've had all three of those guys respond personally to a post I made with a tag for them in it- so I don't think it's that cuckoo of an idea to try that here. ;)

But neither should they be derided for not responding to any given post when they have dedicated channels specifically for answering Backer questions, and have pledged (at least for the last several months) to answer All questions submitted to those channels.
