I support all of these! Although I don't think a computer software will ever be able to brew "true beer". Simulated one, maybe.

And I would add one point: more realistic looking gear.
At the moment everything looks new and shiny, always. A well used armour should be a bit rusty, a shield would have at least a few scratches, a blade would be stained in blood...

Open my own dev studio, hire my own team and redo the entire project from ground up.

    • Redo the NPC dialogue system.
    • Redo the entire interface and hire an UI designer to make it look pretty. Take a page off of GuildWars 2's book to make the UI part of the art style.
    • Lock the camera to either first-person view or 3rd-person "over the shoulder", remove the targeting system and make any attack happen at/towards wherever the camera is pointing to.
    • If you're going to display stats and numbers, make them intuitive; redo all of the equipment tooltips.
    • Make the NPC's abilities influenced by lighting conditions. If it's pitch black outside, the bandits without light sources shouldn't be able to see me.
    • Redo the entire skill tree system so that you're not forced to keep track of your XP pool or skill training modes in order to be successful in the game.
    • NPC shopkeepers should sell what their stores showcase. If a blacksmith shop has weapons and armour on the shelves and racks, then I should be able to buy that at the blacksmith; the combat vendor can go to hell for all I care.
    • Make the "non-list view" inventory screen with larger icons, in a grid (Diablo style), with a re-sizeable bags/windows.
    • Even out the difficulty within the same skull rating, especially the skull ratings 1 and 2 so that every areas of the same skull rating offer relatively the same challenges. Smooth out the difficulty curve/progression from skull 1-to-4 so that it's not grindy and then spike it up a notch for skull 5 and "end game".
    • Redo the PvP rules of engagements.
    • Allowing Pickpocket on NPCs.
    • Add actual quests and stories in the game that go beyond the "talk to X npc at Y location".
    • Add a group-finder in each Inn/bar that, when activated at the barkeep, give a "1/5" above people's heads so that you know who wants to group up.
    • Redo the character models and customization options. Despite having plenty of sliders already, everyone still has the same ugly face. I'd personally go with a system that has pre-determined faces to select from. Allow black characters with more than just a dark skin tone (the palm of their hands should have a different tone) and add appropriate facial structures.
    • Redo the entire musical soundtrack; it's nice but it doesn't invoke any excitement while adventuring. The only one that does that is the one from the trailer.

+1 I think this should be done annually just because the even the best songs get old after awhile.

I actually agree with every single point you have made here.

Edit: Except for the first part lol. Didn't actually see that bit.

Since the overland map is structured as a hex grid, I would like to see up to 6 exits on each scene so that we can travel Novia with out having to load the overland map as an option.

Shield and bow gem procs, staff = double wand for balance for base mats, enchants and masterworks, Getting a little return of the mats put into a item getting a bit of that back on breaking or a bit more on salvaging, decay only accumulating in adventure scenes.

Anyway, connecting scenes with more exit in a contiguous manner would still work.

It's not completely gone. At least one of their dev tools still displays the overworld with a hexagonal overlay. (I saw it myself momentarily a year or so ago and was surprised.)

However, I agree with your basic idea. More scenes need to be entered at different entrances based on where you hit E in the overworld. Actually, Ardoris sort of does this, depending on whether you enter from the middle or from over the two palaces, you may enter slightly off from the main entrance, but it's clearly big enough on the overworld to take up three "hexes". But the distances around most towns are subtle enough to make this a bit tricky to use (if it was implemented).

definitely tone down the archers. I mean they have shoddy bows!! How can they be that amazing with crappy equipment???

Also add casinos! Or at least playing dice, dominoes, card games (poker? / blackjack?). I'd love to open a casino in the main floor / common room of my Inn/Tavern :)

I really like most of the ideas, although I can't "like" the actual posts for ethical reasons.

It's really nice that no one is derailing the thread with counters for the ideas they don't like. Everyone gets a pass. Great thread.

    For sure:
1)PvP as default mode (With igg/cotos fee for time protection)
2)Map connected with exit on cardinal points to enter in other maps without "overworld" with a multiplayer random encounter (like random encounters in overworld but mp) between the two maps.
3)Players allowed to put igg in bank
4)Visible weapons in first person view (Ultima Underworld like)
    5)Hungry and fatigue system
    6)Non-passive guards and npcs
    7)Rewardable PvP
    8)Justice System
    9)More skin's customizing rings
    10)Fist Weapons
    11)Mounts and Mounted Combat

    Can be really fun:
    -PvP Siege
    -Raid PoT vs PoT
-Breakable and repairable (with toolkits) Player's House
-PvP Lockpicking and House robbery (with traps)
-Survival Skill Tree (for traps xD)

    My little dream:
-Directional Weapon's Swings and Parry/Block while holding shift+wasd keys and right/left mouse clicks.

    Here are my thoughts.
    • No overland map
    • Runebooks or simplified travel (realize this was improved somewhat in last release)
    • NO decay. Punishment for death ($$ or increased wear on gear), but don't lose skills you earned.
    • Mounts
    • % bar or something to tell how far you have progressed on quest. Maybe it's me but I have no idea what I have our haven't done yet.
