Community feedback surveys with Travian Games

    As many of you have seen, we have started a test send (via email) of a couple of surveys with our partner, Travian Games. After the test sends look good, everyone else will receive the surveys. These surveys are intended to collect your feedback on general community and gamer aspects, gameplay specific to Shroud of the Avatar, and also one eventually on the Free Trial process.

    As these go out in the coming weeks via email (we hope to have completed "live" email and other announcements go out next week and the week afterward for the above), please let us know if you have any questions about the surveys and our intentions in gathering your feedback from them.

    These surveys will help us to prepare the game and community for Launch, so we hope to get as many of you to participate as possible. We thank everyone for helping us to improve Shroud of the Avatar!

    UPDATE 11/14:

    We are about to send out to the Gameplay survey to the rest of you who didn't get it in email. Please note that there are TWO test surveys out right now, a General and a Gameplay. The Gameplay is going out this week with the General going out next week.

    Hi oplek! Unless we find something structurally wrong with the test, which we have not, then no, it won't make a difference.

    Everything, we're firing on all cylinders here and hope to gain feedback on your overall thoughts, gameplay thoughts, etc. etc. There will also be a Free Trial process survey that will go out eventually too.

    @Berek tried to do the survey. Crashed. Can't restart it because system thinks I did the survey already. Any suggestions what I can do? I really would like to participate.

    You should be able to restart it fresh by resetting the cache on your browser, or using another browser.

    @Berek, I received the aforementioned Gameplay survey link in my e-mail today. I use Mozilla Thunderbird as my e-mail client, and when I click on the link, it states:

    Apparently, this is because the displayed text in the e-mail is:

    Yet, unlike the link in my post above, if you hover over the link in the e-mail, you'll see that the real link goes to a different URL over at list-manage.com with some additional URL parameters (unique keys for tracking purposes, I assume).

    If this is how your legitimate survey e-mail is supposed to work, then this is misleading and might scare people away from clicking on it (as it did for me).

    Please confirm/explain. Thanks.

    @Berek accidently scrolled right (on phone) while doing the last section and the survey was sent, should be a "are you sure you're done?" button, I wasnt :(

    also 500 characters is a tad too little.

    Most stuff here has a history though after 48 month of releases, and that history is very important on the route to find out why SotA is in the state it is now ;)

    A reminder to please complete your survey in one sitting please! If you start and then take a break for a day or whatever, it may not successfully pick up where you left off...

    Where can one post feedback on the survey questions/design?

    This since most of them are good but a couple of them fall into standard survey traps leading to less actionable data.

    Which means that I'd be very interested in giving advice on the next batch before they go out.
