Hello all! I have heard a lot about SotA but never tried it out. I'm a long-time UO fan and played on Chesapeake from 98-04. I've bounced around a few UO free shards since, but am thinking about trying out SotA.

If anyone is around from the "good ol' days" I was on Chesapeake and a member of SxC and Heartkin. I helped found the Silvervale community (Count Zeddar was my main) and played several years with the wonderful people there.

Anyway, looking forward to checking out the game.

Welcome!! I love it when old school UO players find their way here. I played on Cats and although these are two very different games, it has some of the same feel that UO had community-wise. If you do give it a try add me to your friends list and give me a shout when your in game and I'll show you around. @Dinsoo no eating former UO players. :D

As @Stryker Sparhawk pointed out, a number of us from the Chessy shard are here and we have brought PaxLair with us. Just remember the game is NOT UO or UO2. PvP is consentual.

    @The Watch

I remember Heartkin and Silvervale indeed! I believe Heartkin had one of the longest guild initials before they limited it to 3 characters "Heartkin". I remember the old guild stones. Silvervale at the Compassion crossroads. Many an event and adventure back in the old days. Welcome!

I see you mentioning Chesapeake on Reddit too ... well done (https://www.reddit.com/r/ultimaonline/comments/5u8slj/looking_for_uo_oldtimers_from_chesapeake/) - Yep! ATD, Dragons Watch, Project Sanctuary, Falconer's Inn! PaxLair, Village of Paws, OSR, CBR and Corwyn!! and Gehenna with CoV (the Vampires! Did you know they captured me once from PaxLair, did not touch me, just led me to OM for a little "chat" at their Tower in Gehenna ... completely unexpected event and one of the best ever, in PvP territory) We should have written BOOKs about our Shard back then. .... SotA can be like that again I believe!

Do you still have any UO accounts? We (PaxLair) have a 20th Anniversary planned for January 19, 2018 in UO Chesapeake. Many of us from here (SotA) will also be there (UO)! You are invited!

Great fun and welcome once again!

So you got me reminiscing about old UO Chesapeake. Here's what PaxLair was like 1998 to about 2006 (link) - and some pictures:

PaxLair, Felucca with the Twin Towers

Ed McManus declared control of the woods and East Meadows, November 1999
That set up LOTS of PvP and Diplomacy too. Fun times!

CHAMPS tournament in our PaxLair arena's. They killed us all later after the tournament was over of course.

And the best of times, and the worst of times.
Seer Daemeon befriended us from the beginning, help player towns become player towns and be "blessed".
He sacrificed his life into our bloodied Spring of Knowledge to transform it into the Spring of Courage. Mazrim was thus defeated.
Then Seers came from all over, even other Shards to bid him farewell.
We never saw Seer Daemeon again. *sad and sheds a tear*
Seer @Sannio may have been at this event; Sannio was a Seer on Chesapeake too and now a Portalarium Developer.

Ah... it's good to be old. *sips Single Malt Scotch and looks at the sunset*
