    MERRY FISHMAS From San Antonio! December 8, 2017 Snow!

    Fisherman WinOle and Fisherwoman WinLena are stuck in the mid-South. It was HOT until today! It's 34 degrees with SNOW. Obviously they went out to celebrate, all cuddled up with their friends WinFrosty and WinM.

    Yeah, my back yard this mornin', 0.25 inch of snow, but enough to make WinOle and WinLena! Yeah, you betcha! That's good!

    Huzzah!

    Yeah, I'm from Wisconsin and my relatives are from North Dakota, Norway, and Sweden. You betcha!


    We need some SotA Game Mechanics for melting snowmen... and maybe magic to bring them back to life! (Episode 2 I imagine). And need some NPCs to say "Yeah, you betcha"!

    WinOle is already down -- a bit of time into the day. He face-napped into the tree. WinLena is looking a little "warm".

    Alas, WinOle and WinLena are now gone, their substance evaporated back into the clouds whence it came. Yet, they enjoyed a special and precious unexpected morning with friends WinFrosty and WinM ... so all is worth it!

    Perhaps there will be another year, another short celebration. WinFrosty and WinM will be patiently waiting to see their friends again.

    Atlanta is getting it now. Schools closed an hour ago and it's expected to snow most of the afternoon and evening.

    I think even Austin got robbed, it looked like there was a partial outage of the radar there, but I could see what looked like a hole in the precipitation. And Galveston got snow, too!

    For those who don't know, while Austin usually gets a morning of snow every year or two, San Antonio gets snow about every five years or so. Usually we get just one ice storm day a year, where rain freezes right to the road and the temperature stays below freezing. There are like three conditions needed to get snow, and we're just far enough south that usually at least one of them fails.This was also the second earliest recorded snowfall.

    It'll be hard to top January 1985 when we got 13 inches. There was also another snow a few weeks later that didn't reach farther south than Austin, and an heavy ice storm (an inch of ice on vehicles!) a day or two before the 13 inches.
