We are aware of some server connectivity issues some of you are experiencing. If you are in the game and happen to see this message, avoid crossing zone boundaries or relogging into the game at this time.

Apologies about the disruption, we're looking into it now!

The server status should just show a cabalist tangled in network cables.

I am guessing the server counts login entries and the counter is never purged, as such the counter has reached its assigned bit length, and simply can't count any higher.

My vote is for a drive filled up with Log Files...

I've been involved with the Internet as a developer and a project manager for more than 20 years now, and 30 to 50% of the outages I've been involved with have been because a drive filled up with Log Files... Some because no one thought to setup log rotation, or because the log rotation that had been set up failed and no one noticed.

Was it a drive full of log files?

Actually no. Some hardware is having issues and reports a warning, physically. At the moment too early to say where this comes from, b/c the error indicated is not what's actually happening. And the OS on it thinks everything is fine. The last time we had something like this we realized a power supply (out of two redundant ones) turned on and off and on and off, which we believe created surges the box didn't handle well.
