Yeah, I also was not able to get on that day. That event was in 1997 and people still talk about it. How many people really got on that day? Probability a very small amount. I know we have a persistent state but I'm really hoping that @Lord British @DarkStarr , @Chris have something up their sleeves that will be memorable . It certainly looks like a cataclysmic event is occurring. Please, please do something memorable.

I wonder if people would be upset if something occurred that made enemies stronger or a powerful threat appeared. What if the Obsidians came to power and started imposing their will? Players would not lose stats or become weaker, its just that everything else becomes harder.

I predict that it hits hidden vale and wipes out owls head and other NPC towns around it. Avatars will luckily get all their possessions dumped in the bank via some last minute reclamation spell. An unfortunate side effect of the spell is a new rift torn in the fabric of space time opening a portal directly to the undead lands of T'riculdoch. This triggers a new mainland -land rush (and hidden vale POT rush) for the displaced avatars and a new highlevel (with some lower level areas) adventuring area/community event that if completed will enable to rift to be closed. Upon closure, avatars will have another harvesting/crafting community event that will allow many of the ravaged towns to be rebuilt resulting in a place anywhere row deed (if you don't already have one). There is even rumor of a powerful new crafting material in the crater left behind by the comet that can bring major technological change to the land. That's totally what's going to happen. Its going to completely change the face of the map for good. Hidden vale will only be accessible by NPC airships and player owned airships who will charge a fee to ferry people to and from.

 

hmmm will a meteorite dust cloud create a fog of war?
